Picked this up at other Half two weeks ago and finally got around to having it today, which would be appropriate given that Game 7 of the The Finals is on tonight! Stamped with "Pump fake" on the bottom with a date of 6/3 and naturally, this beer tasted quite fresh and had a wonderful aroma when I cracked the can open. It might be the Motueka and Wai-iti hops, as I'm not quite familiar with how they smell or taste in a beer such as this!
Nice pour to this as the beer had a dark, funky apricot hue to it with lots of light streaming around the edges and a fair amount of subtle haze to it. Massive head as well which stuck around for the duration and was on par with the soapy clumps of lacing left around the side of my pint glass. Good amount of tropical fruit in the nose with even more in the taste, to go along with citrus pith, lemon, lime, and a lemongrass finish to it. Somewhat dry, lightly carbonated, and juicy, the alcohol was hidden well and this had a Sorachi-like bitterness to it that wasn't as pronounced. Plenty of juice here and a bit of resin was leftover once this went down as the mouthfeel was moderately wet and slick at the same time.
Slightly strong but not having that feel, this went down so easily while leaving an aftertaste reminiscent of stone fruit and melon rind. While not Other Half's best, this was a solid beer that any of their fans would love while staying to true it's nomenclature. Not a layup for sure and nearly a slam dunk in every aspect - the definition of what a good American Double/Imperial IPA should be!

This might be the most crushable imperial I have ever tried. So much tangerine, papaya, mango with just the right bitter finish. Amazing medium full body with excellent soft carbonation. My lead for beer of the year. Brew this again boys!
