From a 16oz can, date-stamped 12/06/22 FLX… so, getting a little long in the tooth. Served in a spiegelau IPA glass.

Pours a hazy, milky-pale orange with a scant two-finger tight, white, shaving cream-like head of foam. Retention is excellent, leaving a pouffy cap and a tattered blanket of lacing.

Nose is pleasant enough but disappointingly faint. Aromas of white cupcake and tropical fruit. A little funk and must.

Taste is pithy, rindy, dry and woody. Lots of fruit but only very mildly sweet, dank, with some gritty bitterness. Tasting underripe pineapple, guava, mango skin. And there’s that faint white cupcake taste again which tbh might be the best part.

Feel is juicy, medium-full bodied with fine, prickly carbonation. There’s a substantial boozy warmth in the gullet.

Overall, tasty stuff. It’s held up well for being better than two months old (snob that I am). Lots of pithy, gritty, underripe tropical fruit character. Rough, but in a good way.

Pours cloudy yellow color with a foamy 2 finger thick off white head that faded slowly and left really nice spotty lacing. Smells of tangerine, orange peel, grapefruit, apricot, hints of pineapple, biscuit, gummy bears, orange creamsicle and peppery spices as it fades. This was a well balanced nose.

Tastes like tangerine, orange peel, pineapple, grapefruit, apricot, biscuit, gummy bears, lime, Razzles candy, orange creamsicle, sweet malt, caramel, floral notes, lemon zest and hints of peppery spices as it fades. The aftertaste is like orange circus candy peanuts combined with a citrus smoothie. Good stuff.

Poured a cloudy orange-yellow body with decent head that sticks around for a while thanks to lace ring. Touches of apricot and mango underneath a mostly citric hop aroma. Smooth, creamy body that is medium to heavy, almost no bitterness at all with a mild tropical fruit sweetness that also seems to have apricot or pear as well. Beer finishes clean and filling and is very easy to drink.

Complex ipa with a nice balance between juicy and malty. The feel is soft and pillowy with a large amount of carbonation. My sense of smell has never been my strong suit and the smells on this beer are subtle, malty. Maybe lemon.
This is a good beer.

Review 1510

I picked up this beer just a couple weeks ago. My second beer to try from Other Half Brewing. The beer is 46 degrees and served in a tulip glass. The pour of the beer created a gorgeous three-fingered head with excellent retention. The bright white creamy and foamy head left some lacing on the glass as it dissipated. The lacing created on the glass is beautiful. The color is SRM 4, pale straw with golden yellow hues. This beer is cloudy and not able to see anything else going on. This IPA is stunning.

The initial aroma in the beer is lemon, oranges, pineapple, and toasted malts. Nosing further, I smell honey-like sweetness, a touch of floral, and a hint of cereal grains. I am having a difficult time picking up any other aromas. Usually, the beer is a bouquet of aromas.

The flavors in the beer are lemon, oranges, honey-like sweetness, toasted malts, cereal grains, floral esters, herbal, a touch of pharmaceutical, a hint of phenolic, a smidge of grapefruit rind, and toasted bread.

The mouthfeel is tannic, dry, coating, and astringent.

The body of the beer is medium, medium carbonation, and full finish.
The dry hop in the beer gives the beer the umph to bring it in the front. The malt backbone is firm but not overbearing. A solid IPA with wonderful flavors.

On tap at Tap and Mallet in Rochester, NY.

This one pours a very hazy golden yellow color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This smells like pineapple juice, weed, pine, grapefruit, and mango.

DDH Space Diamonds was an early favorite for me from OH, so it's cool to actually try the original beer here. It's super pineapple-y, a definitive Galaxy bomb, with a touch of weedy/floral bitterness, some sweet grapefruit, and a nice general creamsicle type flavor.

This is creamy, medium bodied, and very drinkable, with no hop burn.

This is a really tasty beer, and it hits the spot with that occasional hop craving I have these days.
