Draught @ the source. Looks like unfiltered apple juice with a small dense white head. Aroma's of melon, sweetish and dank. Retronasal it's melon, juicy, dankish and onion. Flavour is moderate sweet, dank, light fruity sour and light bitter. Medium bodied. Quite a bit of (soft) carbonation. Long finish that's actually quite sweet with eventually light bitterness.

Can: Poured a cloudy/hazy color ale with a large white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of huge floral undertones notes with some citrusy and mango/tropical notes with some faint residual sugar notes also perceptible. Taste is also dominated by dank and pungent hops notes with citrusy and mango/tropical notes with some faint residual sugar notes also perceptible. Body is full with creamy notes and good carbonation. Pretty excellent for the style.

Looks like an Orange Julius. Opaque, solid, smooth, creamy looking yellowy orange juice. No pulp. Frothy off white head with good lacing.

Smells like an Orange Julius too. Even from three feet away, orange citrus freshly squeezed with a drop of vanilla and wedges of pineapple and passion fruit.

In an unexpected turn of events, flavor not so citrusy. More along the lines of apricot with a light grain infusion and a rind or bitter orange peel finish. Just a touch of lime and pine as well, but short lived before those peels linger over.

Creamy. Smooth and creamy, low carbonation. Sub smoothie textured but just barely. A nice bitterness creeps in long after sips if you allow it, along with a mild warming alcohol. The richness demands this to be savored.

A model representation of the style. With beers like these, I can see why Other Half is regarded so highly.

Thanks again Jay! Cheers.

Canned 12/19/16; drank 1/2/17 @ the Yarchives.

Opaque dark orange rust appearance.

A rough pour yielded a HUGE eggshell head; thick lace.

Orange citrus, pineapple & mild banana notes in the nose.

Soft, medium mouthfeel.

Pineapple & mild banana flavors up front; dry orange peel notes on the finish. No booze heat.

Fruity with a nice dryness for balance; a winning combination.

Had on draft at Croxley’s Ale House in a tulip glass.

Look is a hazy dull orange amber with little to no head.

Aroma is sweet citrus candy.

Taste matches aroma with that citrusy pineapple candy and a dry pithiness at the end.

Another drinkable hazy juicy from Other Half. That's not a knock, their consistent quality is damn impressive. The balance of malt (and any sweet adjuncts) and bitterness is spot on. The hops are pineapple, peach, apricot, and lemon peel on the tongue, but earthier and orangier in the aroma. Slightest hint of garlic.

L - OH haze is the best haze. Tangerine smoothie and pineapple juice. Bone white fluffy head.

S - oniony resin up front backed by grapefruit peel. Vague peach and some creamsicle creaminess. Smells a bit like the oil on a bowling lane, but that might just be because I rolled some balls tonight. Hm.

T - this one burns a zest hole in your mouth hole. Bitter orange rind is the main attraction with side notes of scallion and boozey melon. Hints of cantaloupe as well, mixed with morning cereal grains. Slightly mealy, slightly dry on the finish.

F - soft and supple with a slight bite from the alcohol. Adds to the sharp rindy zestiness.

O - This seems to be the turning point in OH beers where the booze starts to become more pronounced. It's delicious, don't get me wrong, but it's there. Interesting balance between melon and bitter rind. A little intense, but I think that's the point.

90% opaque orange with yellow edges and a large white, lumpy foam leaving sponge lace. It pours chunky and fully opaque upon second pour.

On the nose is sticky, yeasty bread paired with dank orange marmalade, a little spicy musk that's not quite pine, tangerine, apple and green onion.

Flavor is spicy orange, tangerine, and sharp yeast pairing with an almost acidic mango and faint cracker. I also get caramel, vanilla cream, and a little more pine as I exhale.

Crisp, thin and dry.

Really nice nose, super juicy and citrus. Nice hazy orange look. Taste initial is spot on with the nose and has great tropical fruits with a more than expected hoppy finish, little more than I personally would like but still really great brew.

A- beautiful hazy orange with a creamy head that almost stayed the distance

S- explosion of orange, tropical fruits and slight citrus.

T- absurd. An absolute juice bomb. Heavy orange juice up front changing to pineapple, papaya and a slightly odd but very welcome note of bubblegum. Right up my alley.

F- very full bodied, medium carbonation.

O- in recent weeks ive tried Julius, Alter ego and many other heavyweights....this is the best IPA ive ever tried.simply incredible beer.

Poured into a 16 oz Nordic pint glass canned on 2/17/17. Pours a very murky yellow orange yellow with a massive two inch sticky white head that leaves behind loads of lace.

Smell is mango, guava, apricot, tangerine, papaya, pine, and grapefruit rind.

Taste follows tropical all the way, with guava, papaya, tangerine, passion fruit, apricot, pine, and grapefruit in the very balanced finish.

Mouthfeel is a big medium, enough carbonation to hold my attention, not dry, but juicy as hell, and at 8.8% ABV crazy drinkable.

Overall this is another treat sent by @Rcruz9230.

Pours a hazy orange color with a one and a half inch, fairly well retained head that left beautiful beer porn lacing all the way down the glass. Smells amazing with strong citrus, mango and pineapple notes. Tastes of grapefruit, orange, mango, pineapple and a hint of onions. Finishes moderately bitter, dry mouth feel, light to moderate carbonation and medium bodied.

Silver tan can with the cool graphics sticker

Typical new style IPA look...heavily clouded

juice bomb nose with mega pineapple, as well as a back note of fresh scallions

Juicy, tropical, dank, mild onions...spicy/fruity hop finish..

Enjoyable brew. Would never wait in line to get some more, but if friends have extra cans, I will not complain

Pours a hazy, murky dark orange in color with a finger of white head that rapidly fades. Aroma is grapefruit, orange, mango, and a whiff of alcohol as the beer warms. Taste hits the same notes but adds a dank, green hop note. The finish is full of ripe mango. Medium+ body and moderate-high carbonation. If you like dank then this is the IPA for you.

pours an EXTREMELY murky orange/yellow. the head is very foamy with tiny little bubbles, so it lasts and laces beautiful. I didn't even need to pour it to get smacked in the face with pure hop aromatics: oranges, mangoes, grapefruit, peaches, and a "green" scent that is reminiscent of sticking your nose into a big bag of hops. they got the taste to match the smell exactly, but with a nice, supportive dry malt backbone that lets these hop tastes take over all of your senses. I cannot figure out where they hid the 8.8%. feel is absolutely perfect, you get that thick, gritty feel that you know came from the immense dry hopping, that slick feel from the malt bill, and it's all blended and cut perfectly with the carbonation. this is the best beer OH makes, I'd even argue it's the best beer that comes out of NYC period (yes people, this includes Grimm *gasp*)

Appearance: Arrives hazy and honey colored with a frothy white head; decent lacing and retention

Smell: Tropical fruit, with pineapple and mango notes; resinous and dank

Taste: Dankness, up front, with tropical fruit tones of pineapple and mango rising; after the swallow, resinous bitterness returns, producing a dank finish

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: A nice combo beer showing both dankness and tropical fruit tones

Thanks, JBYRD64, for the chance to revisit in a can

Not sure what hops are in this but it tastes like an absolute mosaic bomb!

Look: super hazy yellow but not much head.

Aroma: dank mosaic notes on the nose with lots of grapefruit on the back end. Very pungent.

Taste: bitter grapefruit citrus and some
dank as well. Finish is suprisingly refreshing.

Mouthfeel: thick mouthfeel but I wouldn't call it creamy. Drinks like an 8% beer.

Overall(style points); super dank east coast style IPA. Other Half has created a super flavorful beer but you have to like mosaic. 95.5 points!

I think I just had a bad can, it happens oh well.

It look and smelled delicious, but the minute I took a sip it was way to boozy. Most of the time Other Half is really great at masking the almost 9% alcohol, that's why I think this is just a bad can. I still, love OH though and would want to try another Mylar Bags just to compare to this one. Hopefully the outcome will be better.

First time I had this was the day after canning. It felt too "extreme" and harsh. Decided to set the rest of the loot away for a few days. That was a good idea. My second can was after about a month and its really opened up. The flavors have rounded off and it doesnt have the hard edge it used to.

On the nose Im getting dank dank hops, some bitter OJ and citrus. On the palate this is a malty hop rascal. Tonnes of sweet malts with an infusion of hop punches and kicks. Similar to a slightly bitter Meyer Lemon sorbet.

At almost 9pct you cant find any alcohol trace. This is a terrific effort from Other Half. Two thumbs up.

In my top ten for NE ipas. This was phenomenal. Amazing aroma dominates the nose, smooth on the way down with zero bite for such a strong ipa. Great flavor. The best OH beer i have had to date

16 oz can. Pours cloudy orange, sudsy thick white head recedes slowly leaving soapy lacing. Sweet tropical fruit aroma jumps out. Big fruity juicy flavor, mango, papaya and touch of pineapple, friggin delish. Grassy bitterness shines at the end. Soft slick feel. Yum!
