Double Dry Hopped Double Mosaic DreamDouble Dry Hopped Double Mosaic Dream
Notes: Double Dry Hopped Double Mosaic Dream is our standard Double Mosaic dry hopped a second time with a mosaic lupulin powder. Lupulin powder is a new hop product that is similar to our standard hops but with all the extra plant filler stripped away. It’s pure hops and it’s awesome.

A disproportionately gargantuan blast of tangerines is followed up by notes of mango, raw papaya, grass jelly, and even more sweet citrus. Just a disclaimer, I'm having a really hard time writing this review as I drink because this drinks absurdly smooth and easy. There's a hint of biscuit-y malt toward the back which neatly keeps all the aromas from running amok.

Stupid is as stupid does, or in this case, Mosaic tastes as Mosaic smells. Nice sweet citrus up front, accentuated by huge notes of tropical fruit and just a hint of earthiness. The malt along with the grapefruit rind bitterness once again plays a mediating role as it re-primes your tongue for sip after sip after... oh look, my beer's gone already.

The body on this one is a little more substantial than the beers I've been drinking from North of where this is brewed and far Northwest from where this is brewed; medium-bodied with an almost chewy consistency. Slight creamy initial mouthfeel with no booze burn whatsoever.

2 month old can. An extra from a recent trade. Way passed its prime. Malty mess. Very surprised how fast these fade away. I've had some really great NEIPAs with 3 months on them and never taste this off... Damn shame.

After being politely asked to vacate my Lyft for defecating in my freshly ironed Skidz, I'm dumped curbside in front of the gleaming ray of light known as Other Half Brewing. Waddling in like an elderly penguin entering a Best Western, I catch the attention of a beautiful bartender and order a beer. I take a sip and I’m instantly transported to Gordon Blevins' basement circa 1999. With Crazy Town’s smash hit “Butterfly” blastin' and ol' Blevy by my side, I couldn’t think of a happier time… until now. My Double Dry Hopped Double Mosaic Dream has finally come true. Unlike my shorts, this beer is super clean, light bodied and crisp, with no lingering flavors. It's super drinkable—you keep going back for more. Juicy, pithy tropical fruit on the back and peach supporting it nicely in the crack. A very nice DDH DIPA with a bitter bite in the finish. Just another great IPA from a great brewery.

CROWLER™ thanks to myself.

Bottom of can: 2/19/19

Straw golden color with slight amber hues. A fluffly and bubbly white foam keeps it high. Light coverage, displaying sticky lace.

Mosiac hop has to be one of the most diverse hops in every way. The aroma is of sweet tropical fruits, pineapple, citrus and melons. The malt is a light, crispy grain and a smooth creamy style smell, very light and golden aromatics. Big time nose.

The tropical fruity hop complexity from the Mosiac is pretty high grade. The hop flavor rolls on and on with multiple layers. A sharp earthy, dry texture kicks in, peppery pineapple a dry citrus tones soon roll in. Oranges with black pepper and dry crispy pilsner style malt all mingle together for a bit until it all finishes dry and hearty. A milky, smoothness happens within the malty feel and flavor that lingers on as creamy, and then more orange citrus tones come back. Like I said, complex, with layers.

The dry hopped Mosiac approach makes for a seriously deep hoppy groove in both mouthfeel and flavor. The aftertaste of fresh, dry hops keeps going long after the last sip. Obviously complexity is vety high concidering the quality and balance of malt/hops. The ale yeast is always very neautral and clean, which allows the hops to shine and malt to hold it all down. You would never know this is 8.5% abv. Because of the heady complexity and dry tones. The alcohol only adds further depth to an already heady brew.

Pours dark yellow. Smells of hops like a typical New England IPA. Solid beer, but reminds me a lot of some of the other IPAs I've already had. I think the addition of lupulin powder adds nuance to the typical hop profile.

Feels, smells, and looks exactly like my favorite NEIPAs. When I drink it though I could be convinced it's a peach IPA which I wasn't sure would be a winner but this is a damn good beer.

Poured from a 16 ounce can into an IPA glass. Canned on Halloween 2018.
Dark yellow and very hazy with heavy lacing.
Smells delightfully hoppy and up my nouveau alley.
Tastes disappointingly thin, especially considering the ABV. Still a good beer, but anemic and almost sour-citric. The aftertaste is fruity, earthy, bitter, and pleasant.
Not worth going out of your way for, but still nice.

these lupulin powder beers are absurd! this is really special beer, easily my favorite of the rash of recent ipa types i have had from other half, and all of them have been great, but this is just on its own level! when i pop the can, it seriously fills the room with mosaic goodness, no mistaking the hop, the intensity is insane, and its everywhere, how the can even contained it seems weird to me, like this had to be ready to jump out of there, its filling the house! not as hazy as the rest of them have been lately, with a nice thick white head on it, a new foam mustache every time i take a pull. the absolute essence of mosaic on display here, through and through, maybe the best expression i have ever known of it, certainly in a long time it is, basic grain profile, enough sweetness to carry in the middle, less so in the finish, the lupulin powder aspect i think cranks the intensity to 11, especially in the nose. the flavor is pineapple, white tea, clementine, and orange tic tac candy, with some lemongrass and honey notes too, i almost feel guilty drinking it, like it is so nice it deserves to be left in one piece or something. so much mosaic, even a little bitterness to help it finish which so few of these have. not heavy to drink at all, even at temperature. id love to try the same recipe with other hops and their respective lupulin powders, this really was a game changer for me. glad i have one more can in the fridge!!!

Mosaic shines incredibly well all over the ale, namely the aromas; the hops work well with lactose on the palate, plus some peach supporting it nicely in back; thick mouthfeel, with juicy, peach qualities lingering.

After an earlier other half beer where the lactose was overpowering I was ready for disappointment. Luckily this is spot on. Malt and hops work well together and that big hop flavour and aroma is well matched with the lactose.

I've been on an Other Half kick recently and it's really kind of all running together.

Smell is honestly kind of bleak, vegetal and hoppy. Some fruity elements that aren't very distinct.

Taste is bold hops, citrus, berries, bitter spice, but still a soft, velvety and juicy mouthfeel with perfect carbonation.

The DDH Double IPAs from other half are amazing, but only the DDH Broccoli and Cabbage have really stood out as unique to me. This and others like mylar bags run together.

Milky blonde; onion + blueberry; melon, tangerine, peach cobbler, mango + garlic, and a juicy little comeback; no IBUs, silky yet clean.

Pours light orange with light head and nice lacing.

Mosaic dominates the aroma. Berry smell like blueberry /blackberry mix. My can is from 7/25 and aroma prob not as it was on canning day.

Taste is solid. The berry taste lingers on the pallet. If u love mosaic this is your beer.

While mouthfeel on this is good, I expected a bit more creaminess.

Overall not my favorite other half beer but still solid top 250 beer all the way. Just think it might b a tad overrated.

Had on tap at the source

L -- Hazy pale orange with a minimal, quickly dissipating white head
S -- Dank pineapple, diesel, grapefruit rind and flesh, weed, hint of pine. Very dank
T -- Lots of citrus rind, zest and yeasty bite. Hints of pineapple, mango, herbaceous earthiness, sweet floral.
F -- Crisp, prickly, semi-dry, and mildly astringent. Medium+ mouthfeel, medium+ carb.
O -- The yeast character, similar to what I've found with most of Trillium's DIPAs, overpowers some of the nuances in the flavors and makes it more biting than it would be otherwise. Still displays a nice, dank fruitiness that is unmistakably mosaic

This one pours a slightly hazy dark orange, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This smells like orange and tangerine, with some grapefruit, blueberry juice, candied pineapple, and guava. There's no malt character at all.

This tastes pretty incredible. I don't even usually like Mosaic dominant beers, but this is so creamy and hoppy, with a light piney bitterness. It's less bitter than the typical OH beer, but it's still got a nice balance, more so than the typical juice bombs.

This is medium bodied, creamy and slick, with a nice rich mouthfeel, and a really high level of drinkability.

This is certainly up there with the best beers Other Half has ever produced. It's a near perfect IPA.

Poured from a 16oz can into a speiglau IPA glass.

Look is a cloudy orange yellow with a billowy white head.

Aroma is deep bitter citrus peel and mango.

Taste is bright and citrusy with almost no trace of alcohol. Tastes like a juice made of oranges tangerines and mangos with the peels left on.

This beer pours a completely opaque, cloudy golden yellow color with a two finger, foamy, bright white head that eventually fades to a half finger cap that sticks around for the entirety of the beer. There are lots of sticky chunks and spots of lacing left all over the glass.

Smell is like those old school TV episodes of Batman. POW! pineapple BAM! mango WHAM! grapefruit BONK! orange DICKSLAP! peach. An all out hop assault. Dank as fuck.

Taste is the same. All those buzzwords that the old school BA's hate. Dank, juicy and ridiculously crushable for the ABV.

Feel is outstanding. Pillowy soft and creamy, light side of medium bodied and low carbonation.

Overall this beer is excellent. Not much else to say really. I'm glad I got to try it.

Decanted from a 16 oz (473 ml) can into a conical pint glass; production date 01/17/18.
A: Pours a translucent golden (slightly orange) color with a one inch, foamy white head, decent retention, and gorgeous lacing all the way down the glass.
S: Very fruity with a melange of tangerine, pineapple, and peach.
T: Flavors of tangerine, mango and peach hold up well along light roasted malty graininess. Bitterness in excellent balance providing a remarkably tingly yet crisp finish. Felt like there was a party going on in my mouth.
M: Medium bodied with excellent effervescence throughout.
O: Really a treat. I remain impressed at how some producers manage to retain so much of the fruitiness of the Mosaic hops in the final product. Kudos, this one's a winner.
