wow. it's been a whole day since this came out and not even a tick? wooh boy...I get to set the bar!!! or should I say, this beer sets the bar...REAL TALK, this is a pale ale.

THIS IS A PALE ALE.

ok, I think we can have this discussion now. wait...

NOT AN IPA....PALE ALE. YO...PALE ALE.

you ever have live oak hefe? you ever take the SATs? 'member the verbal? well here, check this out...

live oak is to hefe
...as...
taters is to...a hyped up monster of a line of hipster alcoholics that rivaled the innaguaration of president dwayne the rock Johnson (too soon?). but i digress...as I often do...did you know that I was born 3 weeks late? they don't let that kinda sh.t fly nowadays. the late 70s was a wild time though....thalidomide and all.

thank you fil, bll, and feet for waiting in line. really...can't believe you did that...but good for you (and me!!!!)

but the beer...right...you read all that...so I should tell you about the beer...she's a killer. whether its the oats, the ddh, the hop selection...I'm sold. I'd like to see more..
NO!!!! not just more...ONLY...ddh pales. ipas...psshhh...that's so neckbeard...ddh pales...that's where the dad bods are flocking. I can defintely get behind the lower abv (and calories). I'm almost 40. I can't be drinking them 8.5% ipas while trying to give my kids life advice before bedtime. but a 5.5% flavor bomb like this...f.ck..
I'm making super nanny pull out her marble notebook. the hipster dream is over. the parents are willing to start the line at 9pm the night before (mostly to miss bedtime). give them bread...give them pale ales, but ddh the f outta them. add some oats...call omnipollo and tired hands and make a mango vanilla nightmare, but keep her pale. session ipas are the benjy bronks of the beer world...we need dem ddh pales. the people have spoken...don't make me take this to yelp...cause I will!!!

Seacrest OUT!!!!

Opaque pale sandy tan-yellow with a minimal white blanket.

Smell is dichotomously potent yet softly spicy pine with cannabis, oats, kiwi, pink peppercorn, and pearl onion. There are hints of cream and a touch of funky cheddar.

Light and frothy flavors of cannabic pine are paired with lemon, pear and orange rind making a unique mix of delicate but pungent notes.

Finish is chewy dry while the body is thin and smooth. We did a side-by-side-by-side with Twice Baked and Fully Loaded, and we feared our tongues were about to harden up on us due to the excessive dryness!

Not sure how to follow cosmicevans great review, here goes ...

Firstly props to my buddy Strohm for braving the line for me (again) to het these latest ones.

This one th hops jump out at you the second you open the can. Colour is honey/straw and beautifully cloudy. Along the line of Cabbage, but in this one the hops shine through even more with the lower malt and hence alcohol. Instantly one of my all time favourites, nice bitter finish to refresh the palate as you go for the next sip, and before you know it, its gone.

I realise theres a lot of hype and big lines limited supply to create buzz on purpose with Other Half, but make no mistake, these are very good beers, and this one is my favourite so far.

This was another beer that I missed out on getting directly as I made it to the brewery a bit after 6, only to find that the line was nearly wrapped around two blocks at that point. Excited to try this but the hype was just a bit too high as this beer was nice, but not overwhelmingly impressive in any particular aspect!

Canned on 7/5 with "TOTS" written below it, this held up well for being 2 1/2 months old. Dank and golden, this had plenty of head on it as it appeared just as I expected it to. Not a lot of lacing left behind as I worked my way through this and the aroma wasn't terribly strong or distinctive either. Full of grass and cabbage, it came across as another take on the Broccoli-themed beers that were released not too long before this. Oats and onion came in after that as a strong, orange cream flavor took over as this settled in and warmed up. Full and slick, there was some dankness underneath everything but never a strong hop presence as this went down oh-so-smoothly!

A light amount of booze here ensured that the odd range of flavors would have time to emerge, and somehow they ended up working together in the end. This was an American Pale Ale that broke the mold of what one could be, as it was appealing from start to finish. Melted cheese not included, of course!

Pours a beautiful hazy pale golden color. smell is fruity DDH with oats very little malt. Taste is very fruity hoppy with very little bitterness. Mouth feel is hoppy and clean with oats and a lemon grass dry finish. Great PA here.

Canned 7/5/17.
Moderate pour yields a 1/2 inch white head over a hazy body with some lacing present as head disappears. Nose of faint pine, faint citrus, and faint tropical fruit. Taste of light citrus fruit pith bitterness with an okay feel. Overall, not as impressed as most other raters. Has it really fallen off this much in 3 and a half weeks?
