My reaction after the first sip of this beer was literally "holy shit, that's good." ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I'm not even going to try and decipher what an "Imperial Oat Cream India Pale Ale" is, but everything about this beer blends in so perfectly. A generous dollop of peaches and nectarine up front, adjoined by gritty oats, hints of spice, soothing cream, and robust earthy pine. As the brew warms up, melon and grapefruit rinds complement the already saturated olfactory profile--the oats and cream slowly dwarf all the other nuanced aromas in play, with the melon and nectarines stubbornly hanging on in the back.

I've never quite tasted anything like this before. It's like peaches and cream, topped with steel cut granola, sprinkled with marjoram or whatever dried garden spice you have laying around all blended together, served on top of a bed of thinly sliced grapefruit rinds dipped and marinated in angostura bitters for a few hours, garnished with a sprinkle of watermelon juice. I mean, this combination makes no logical sense whatsoever, but it somehow works, and it tastes pretty damn amazing. Props to Other Half for having the balls to even attempt something like this.

Medium-bodied with a thick creamy consistency. Medium, sharp carbonation, with nary an indication that this perplexing brew is eight percent alcohol by volume. Overall, this is a little sweeter than I like my IPAs but the sweetness doesn't detract from the uniqueness and complexity of the brew at all. Very close to the ideal mouthfeel that I look for in an IPA--Other Half just shot up a few ranks in my favorite breweries list.

Pours orange with good hops mix of mosaic, chinook, and one other. Tastes piney and citrusy. Not bitter, and a solid sweetness to the brew. Contains lactose as well.

Fantastic hazy look, lots of legs with the a small head that doesn't let go.

Smell is a buttered, unsalted bread, slight vegetal and light hoppiness.

Taste is smooth, creamy and light hops. Nothing over exaggerated, nothing extreme. Just peaceful hoppiness with a tinge of bitterness on the finish. I'm not getting the fruit or sweetness everyone else seems to find with this brew

The mouthfeel is perfect. I'd describe this as "fluffy" there's really no other way I know to call it.

Taste combined with the mouthfeel makes this an outstanding IPA IMO, not DDH in your face hops that OH does really well but can get old, there's no adjuncts to think about. It's just a fantastic mellow beer to drink watching TV before bed.

OH does it again.

Canned 8/1/18 (23 days ago)

L - 2-finger sparse white head atop a translucent orange body.

S - herb, pine, orange, cotton candy.

T - lots of sweet orange with a layer of dank. Molasses, peaches, lactose, nectarine, caramel candies. No bitterness. Moderate-high sweetness. No booziness.

F - medium body and carb.

O - abrasively sweet by OH standards. This one has many good characteristics, but the sweetness drowns everything else out.

Pours cloudy orange gold color with a 1-2 finger white foamy head that faded slowly and left good spotty lacing.

Like all Other Half DIPA’s it’s smooth and hides the ABV almost perfectly with spot on balance and then a wonderful blend of citrus and tropical fruits. This batch includes pineapple, mango, graham cracker, apricot, orange juice, tangerine, grapefruit, biscuit, floral notes and a bitter finish that’s part piney hops and part fresh citrus hops. Delicious.

Deep and murky orange, minimal head but a nice ring of foam around the edges. Very sweet and citrusy smell, a bit floral as well with a little honey. Unmistakably on the sweet end of the spectrum, a bit of peach but there is a strong tropical fruit presence. Modestly carbonated but a robust mouthfeel and smooth finish.

Poured hazy wit ha good white head on top. The smell of the beer has a very nice hop aroma to it. The taste of the beer is creamy with a resin-like finish. The feel is very smooth. Overall I thought this beer was a very good.

Decanted from a 16 oz (473 ml) bag into a conical pint glass; production date 01/17/18.
A: Pours an opaque, camel color with a half inch, foamy white head, lowretention and rings of lacing.
S: Fruity. Aromas tangerine and pineapple mix with a toasty maltiness.
T: Dry to semi-sweet. Tastes lemon-orange-tangerine up front. Grainy with lightly roasted malts evident. Modest bitterness complements the whole
M: Medium with low to medium carbonation. Drinks crisply.
O: Really enjoyable. Perhaps not as flavor forward as some OH offerings, but a solid taste treat.

Picked this up at Other Half when it was released, getting around to it on this windy night. Really impressed with this beer and how well everything meshed together, as the fruit flavors and cream meshed well together as the amount of alcohol in this was barely perceptible.

As has been the case with so many recent offerings from Other Half, this looked wonderful as it was poured out. Apricot in hue, topped with a wonderfully robust head, and moderately dank, this left behind tons of soapy lacing as I worked my way through this. Lovely nose of apricot, nectar, and stone fruit that had me hooked from the get-go as all of those were present in the taste. Dank, sticky, and sweet, the mouthfeel was wonderful with a nice slickness that kept the heft and melon dankness in check. Incredible taste to this as peach, nectar, citrus slickness, dank melon, oats, cream, and bitter hops all competed for attention on my palate, Complex, it felt like there was some agave and cactus in here as well as the booze was fairly potent but complementary with everything else at the same time. Thick in consistency, this was syrupy as indicated by an earlier review on here.

While fairly strong, the amount of alcohol in here was just right as was par with the strength of flavors present in this beer. It's been a while since I had something that was this smooth and strong at the same time but somehow, this straddled that line. Wonderful stuff that showcased the hops beautifully while offering the best of each one. Just about as good as it gets!

Enjoyed from a can on release day (1/17/18 BRAWNDO 2.0)

look: Bright crisp, hazy, well blended, yellow/orange, gorgeous 2 finger foamy head that lingers.
Smell: The first time I walked into Monson.
Taste: Sweet, Citrus, Malt-forward, Dank, aftertaste is bitter and salty.
Feel: Wet, Damp, Crisp, Syrupy, Alcohol is hidden nicely.
Overall: A very solid brew by OH. Light at first that turns to a syrupy dessert of a beer. Opens up very nicely, and should age quite nicely as well.

Ripe stone fruit on the nose, or maybe some kind of melon. Solid malt that slips away smoothly with the oats and lactose rounding it off. Just the smallest hint of bitterness, alcohol barely there.
