Undated (WTF) can into pint glass. Pours a murky brownish-gold with an enthusiastic off-white head. Looks like a banana smoothie. Initial impression is juicy tropical fruits, pineapple, citrus, and a touch of caramel. Alcohol is detectable but not intrusive. Mouthfeel is very soft and juicy. Finish is soft and juicy with lingering citrus zest. Overall, an excellent and thoroughly enjoyable DIPA!

Accepted, it's a oat worted IPA. At least it's not wheat, which really doesn't deserve being in this style in any good measure, if at all. Oats will certainly add to the body, although not the taste for that. The pour, a pint can into a clear glass liter mug. The effect, a big starchy white foam on top of an apricot-amber murky brew. The aroma is pleasant, almost like a real IPA, save the barley malt. The overly foamy sticky starched head, which receded irregularly, is now becoming annoying. But that's visual and beer is about taste. Despite its looks, this actually tastes pretty good. Certainly within the New England IPA style, with muted hops and soft mouthfeel, it's a bit better than anticipated. There's some oaty graininess within and that's not quite as good as barley malt, but not that far off, neither. It does what is expected from a starch, balance the hoppiness fairly well. Overall, this is a tasty surprise. Oats never impact mouthfeel negatively and here, they do an amazing job of substituting the earthy sweetness of barley malt. The negative is it's too sweet without the earthiness barley malt adds. The ABV is only slightly concealed. This really is just a little barley short of being a great one. So pulling this off with oats is very commendable.

L- opaque OJ

S- sweet tropical fruit

T- follows the nose, sweet orange, mango, pineapple, guava, kiwi. Fantastic

F- medium soft, obviously due to the oat cream

O- a delightfully tropical imperial IPA, will definitely purchase again

If there was ever a beer that combined hops into an all-star collaboration, this might be it. Sure, these aren't necessarily the three best but in terms of a Daydream collaboration that's easygoing on the senses, this might have taken the cake. Canned on 12/28/18, the end result of this beer was something that was enjoyably sweet and juicy but just a step or two away from standing out among it's stylistic peers...

Not surprisingly, the appearance of this beer was a muddle peach and apricot with more light coming through on top than at the bottom. The head was not that extensive as the lacing was wavy and layered near the top and sparse below that down the side of my pint glass. Lots of soft tangerine, cream, sherbet, wet grass, and lactose in the pillowy soft nose as the taste followed suit. Creamy lactose, candied sugar, and sweet, tropical fruit entered the fray as I sipped this with this being wonderfully complex, cloying, and full without being overly boozy or heavy. Some muddled hop dankness lingered in the back half and aftertaste but overall, this was a beer that needed the sugary and sticky aspects toned down just a few notches.

Plenty of booze in this one although it was readily detectable, it didn't distract from everything else that was going on. Like sugarcoated, dried candy that I had as a kid, this was enjoyable but left me feeling just a bit empty after it was gone. More juice and body relative to the sugar would have easily made this an all-time great!
