Pours an opaque light copper with a finger of head. The nose has distinct notes of sweet citrus. The flavor is sweet, juicy and bordering on syrupy; there's not even a hint of bitterness in this offering.

This is full-flavored and full-bodied but it misses the bite that I need in my IPAs.

Appearance: Pours like pear nectar with the bubble show producing a pillowy two finger head; excellent retention and dribbles of lacing

Smell: Pineapple and mango with citrus (orange and lemon) tones

Taste: The ABV brings a boozy front end with blueberry and strawberry bringing another aspect to the tropical pineapple and mango tones; candied orange citrus, in the middle, with a hint of lemon, after the swallow; the alcohol emerges, along with a moderate level of bitterness

Mouthfeel: Full bodied and creamy with low to moderate carbonation; the warmth in the gullet is not surprising, fiven the ABV

Overall: Really good and fascinating how a beer with an 11.3% ABV level avoids tasting like a hoppy barleywine

Poured from a can (3/19) into a glass taster

L: darker yellow gold, white head dissipates after a bit but solid lacing

S: creamy tropical fruit with a nice boozy sweetness. Mango, passionfruit, pineapple, citrus. Some caramel, cracker?

T: first thing I think is creamy sweet peanut butter, in a great way. Tropical fruit comes through but less than the nose, quite sweet. Medium/long finish, some alcohol heat

F: incredibly smooth, creamy, rich. Coates the mouth, medium carbonation

O: really surprised by this, what a great beer. Was on the fence (abv and lactose) and very happy to be proven wrong. If you’re looking for something smooth and sweet this is great

Mylar bags? A Daydream beer? Together? That's what Other Half has with this offering as it was every bit as good as promised. Juicy, smooth, and soft as a pillow, this was everything I hoped it would be and oh-so-easy to drink given how much alcohol was in it. At the end of the day, what else could you ask for from a beer like this?

Lovely pour to this as the hue was a muted peach with quite a bit of light seeping in around the edges. Plenty of head topped this off as the lacing was moderately extensive, as the thick ring near the top of my pint glass bled down to the soapy splotches below. Tons of orange, mango, grass, and cream in the nose as the aroma was as soft as could be. Pineapple, fruit cocktail, orange blossom floral notes, and creamy, chewy oats emerged on the palate as this beer was sweet, deep, dank and aromatic as a Triple could be! A luscious carbonation and nicely balanced body only added to this beer's appeal as the deep and varying array of notes were allowed to burst forth and linger, even if they were quite pronounced!

Part of that had to do with the heft of this beer as it felt every bit the 11.3% ABV that it was, even if I couldn't fully taste the booze. Lots of lactose and berry juice kept this even keeled and had me wanting more when I finished it off. Canned on 1/21/19 with "GOES TO 11" written underneath it, this was better than anything from "This Is Spinal Tap" in the sense that the humor was toned down in favor of substance that lasted throughout. Such a winner from Other Half, I can only hope that they release this again in the near future!

Dusky golden orange-yellow, totally opaque, under a finger-plus of white foam... Features El Dorado, Citra, Galaxy, Amarillo and Mosaic hops - the "daydream treatment" referring to the use of oats and lactose presumably... Tangy fruit smoothie delight - tingles with mango, green and ripe, stone fruits, pith and flesh, sweet with zest and a bittering vinousness... Plush and full feeling... 9/26/19 canning... Incredible...

On tap at the Jeffrey, NYC.
Pours a very turbid golden amber color. A moderate head displays decent retention and yields ring like lacing throughout.
The aroma is quite pungent and features a plethora of fruity hops. Opens with citrus notes of freshly squeezed orange juice, followed by a tropical burst of mango, pineapple, papaya and passionfruit. Further into the drink, there are strong notes of herbal and dank aromatics.
The taste opens with a tropical fruit smoothie sweetness, no bitterness, and supported by lactose and creamy oats. Flavors of mango and papaya, in particular, stand out. Yet, the finish soon reveals a resiny bitterness. Spicy notes of pine, grass and resin take the edge off of the sweetness, while completing the transformation of what starts out as a “milkshake IPA” into a delicious and highly drinkable bitter DIPA.
Full bodied with a mouthfeel that opens frothy and soft. However, the development of bitter and herbal hops add a nice spicy prickle. Moderate to gentle carbonation with a dry, resiny and bitter finish.
Fantastic and complex IPA that is bursting with fruity flavor, yet, balanced with some nice bitterness. Alcohol extraordinarily well hidden and highly drinkable for the high ABV.

The opalescent haze is colored similar to dusty straw. A dense, white foam is long lived while it steadily drops to one eighth of an inch. The Pretentious Beer Glass Company dimpled mug is left with a dense coating of white lace.
The aroma presents a ton of fresh mango, followed by almost as much pine straw. Late in the session, pineapple becomes evident.

Orange juice and mango fill the mouth with each sip. They are followed by pineapple. The nose and flavor tightly mirror one another. The finish is long and bitter with bitterness exceptionally high for an NEIPA. Sweetness is a factor, though unquestionably secondary.

This beer has a full body and woolly texture. Tight, fizzy carbonation, along with bitterness, gives it a tooth-coating quality. Residual sugar builds on the lips, and the bitterness leads to a gum numbing effect.

While quite enjoyable, the bitterness is, in my opinion, too high for an NEIPA, and the palate-coating quality is a detriment. All this said, it is still a great beer. I enjoyed it on a mid-Summer afternoon.

Poured into a snifter. An opaque yellow-acorn color with a creamy off-white head that left splotchy tracks on the glass. The aroma was a bit subdued but featured blueberries, sweet tropical notes, and bread. Taste followed. I don't like many 10+ %ABV IPAs because of the alcohol sweetness, but this one is different. It's fairly sweet from the hop notes and the malt, but the heft of the beer seemed to absorb the high alcohol notes if that makes sense. Soft feel with a bit of heat on the finish. Medium bitterness. Very well done.

Can to snifter, 4th of the batch of 8 from 2 weekends ago.

LOOK: hazy pear juice, medium off white head,
AROMA: citrus, grapefruit, lesser so orange, grass, palm leaves
TASTE: that metallic mosaic taste is at the forefront. light citrus: mostly grapefruit. Late hints of spice and earthyness. Funny, this is kind of what I would expect mylar to actually taste like.
FEEL: pillowy upfront, a little harsher/acidic at the back of the throat. Full bodied. ABV is felt full force. A rare hoppy sipper.

A very bold beer. Not tops for OH tastewise, but a forceful example of what big hoppy brewing can be.

Look: Opaque, vivid, pale amber color. Two finger, off white head that eventually disappears, with a lot of lace. No visible carbonation. An extremely attractive NEIPA as is generally the case from Other Half.

Nose: Sweet, bready malts. There is a flash of very bright orange and lemon citrus that reminds me of Sweet Tart candies. I get that aroma in this type of IPA at times and I absolutely love it. Candy goodness. “Hop candy.” Overly ripened mango and pineapple. After warming for a few minutes and a vigorous swirl I do get a faint chalky/orange vitamin aroma. The green side of Mosaic graces me with its faint presence.

Taste: I’m getting a lot of natural berry flavor in this beer, including fresh blueberry and strawberry. Some dry white wine notes. Candied orange. Lemon and lime zest. Again, sweet mango and pineapple. As sweet as the beer is, there is a hint of alcohol and dryness on the finish that keeps the sweetness in check. Also a faint hint of, dare I say, bitter, citrus pith.

Mouthfeel: Typical Other Half. Low to medium carbonation and smooth/creamy as all hell. These high ABV IPA’s are particularly full bodied. This one actually dries out slightly on the finish, but never too much. Everything you want in the feel of an 11.3% New England style IPA with lactose and not too heavy.

Overall: I absolutely love everything under the Mylar label, and this new one is no exception. Highly drinkable for the ABV. And just an exemplary offering.

Canned 1/21/19 courtesy of alexsergio. 16 oz can poured into Plougshare glass.

Deep hazy yet shiny pulpy orange juice color with a tall creamy head of 2 fingers leaving lace on the glass as it recedes. Incredible as always.

Aroma is like opening a pouch of Welch's Tropical Gummies. Not kidding. Damn fine orange juice aromas with fresh pineapple and mango, just a tropical dream all over.

Flavor is peaches, pears, cantaloupe, orange juice and pineapple juice with a shot of alcohol heat and slight hop fading (I waited too long on this and forgot it back there - no fault but my own). Remaining apricot and tangerine flavors.

Super creamy overall and has a nice juicy bite, with a good carbonation level and nice warming alcohol heat but not too much - surprising for 11.3%.

Overall, what's there to say but this is another absolutely phenomenal beer from Other Half. Crazy good stuff.
