Had this on draught at a Finger Lakes tapas bar.
Very pale and quite clear in the glass, light rim of foam hugging the top of the pint. Not much nose aside from a scent of saltines, relatively thin body, flavor is a faint rosy-floral, vaguely vegetal umami on the front end. You’re thinking, “curious, but not much of a beer here.”
Then the mid notes and beautiful finish kick in like a Miles Davis antiphon. Complex floral, savory-salty-perfumey overtones, surrounding a crisp-light malt crackling sparkle that are magically difficult to place.
Each quaff paired with a very delicately spiced Moroccan lamb shoulder revealed more interesting nuances.
Much more overall experience than first blush might suggest. One of the best micro-pils I’ve had so far. True to style yet coming home with lots of compelling character.

It pours crystal clear brass with a big airy white head, champagne-esque bubbles rising in the glass. Great retention; cloud puff lacing. (4.5)

Euro hop grassy, cereals, crisp grain aroma, rich earthy bite. (4.25)

This is a very, very nice take on a pilsner.
It looks spectacular, clear as glass, nice chunky head, textbook for the style. Every aspect of this beer is inviting and pleasant. The aroma has an assertive noble hop character with a nice, clean malt body. Very lightly lime-rindy with bread crust and a soft earthy/herbal bite. It tastes that way too: balanced and easy to drink, earthy hop smack to offset the clean, rich-yet-easy going malt character. It is very drinkable and just about in the sweet spot for me. It is flabbier and sweeter than some, but absolutely doesn't feel heavy or sweet. The hop bitterness is also bigger than most but contrasts in an excellent way with the rest of the beer. As with most well-made lagers, this one is a picture of flavor melding to the point that there is a lot going on but it is so cohesive as to make it tough to tease apart.
This is a damn fine beer and was a pleasure to drink. It's always a joy to have a classic style beer that is this well-made especially when it was brewed by a super hyped-up new school brewery like Bissell Bros. (4.5)

From a 16oz can, dated 04/02/19. Served in an imperial pint pub glass.
Pours a brilliantly clear straw-gold with two fingers of pouffy white head. Retention is excellent, leaving a slightly lumpy cap and bubbly wads of lacing. Not much in the way of visible carbonation.
Smell is clean and sweet, a little lemony, fresh-washed laundry, noble hops and bread. Faint but pleasant.
Taste is a true balance of mild sweetness and sharp bitterness. Lemon pith, baking soda, grape skins and crusty bread roll. Green, leafy, earthy-spicy aftertaste.
Clean and quenching at first but with a little slippery, soapy slickness building up. Medium bodied with ample carbonation (despite appearances).
Overall, a worthy pils. It’s quite sharp and assertive, not subtle but, mostly, in a good way.

A delicious, traditional Pilsner beer. Great malt/grain bill with that touch of hops in the finish that you expect from the style. Suuuper smooth and clean in the finish/feel.

5 for a pilsener. Full body without being overbearing. Mildly spicy but still refreshing. Definitely a great beer for this style.

Nose is corn, foam and cane sugar. Pretty mellow. Beer opens crisp. Notes of cream corn, peppercorn and foam. A touch of zest and an accented hop bitterness at the end. Solid but a touch sweet for me. Body is light with ample carbonation. Prickly on the palate and goes down dry and quenching. Super drinkable.
This is nice but the sweetness is a little too much for me.

It looks fine, maybe a touch grainy hazy. That's where the positives end. It's grainy with no discernible hop character. Having waited a while for BBB to get this beer right, I was disappointed that there wasn't any defining character. Very disappointing.

Poured into a Champlain Pilsner glass
A perfectly clear, golden color, soft, light and white foamy cap holds on well and has some minor lace keeping on. Jazzy and full of happy bubbles. It's about 95 degrees on this July 3rd day here in Keene, NH. I'm basically melting in this non air conditioned house, but the suds are holding up well.
The nose had some exceptional aspects: sweet fruity hoppiness, summer time fields of grains , wheat, corn, hay etc...herbal and funky lager yeast tgat is just as smelly and wholesome as it should be for the style. Some sour fruits kick in later on, lemon zest, white grape juice and cherries. Bssically a classic pilsner nose with a dash more fruity scented hops which works very well.
Oh...dang! What an outstanding Americanized "German" Pilsner!! Lol. No, seriously the fruity hop aroma only translates into very subtle and most excellent hop tones. The perfect and flavorful German malts are hearty, grainy and amazingly light and crisp. Dryness comed in the crispy malt and earthy/herbal side of the hops. The malt also is full of corn, dry wheat and golden grasses type flavor's...very on-point with traditional German pilzzz. Soft white pepper, light grains, herbs and a nice little buttery, bready and honey tinged malt thing all blend together to make one of my all-time favorite (American) German style pilsners.

This is one seriously looking great pils. Just frothy light retention froth head ooozes out on the pour, making for a nearly rocky like big head easily at three fingers tall. Beaming clear body, with just the right amount of mixing carbonation and brass to highlighted green hinted color. Pill lacing, and sheets of rings as the beer settles. Just near perfection practical in the looks department.
The aroma is classic. Touches of fresh baked bread, and a good prominent but not overbearing hop spicy quality. Clean sensing and just superb.
Palate is just a joy. Leafy touches of chewy spice noble like hops, with excellent malt bready tones on first sip. The beer has some girth and while clean has a large amount of controlled thickness and depth for a pilsner. Finish has a very unique flavor. Tastes like breaded hop cones with a green earthy and spicy soft quality. Chewy textures of pulled bread, almost like a great bagel, touches of egg yolk even. Lots of spritzy playful texture on the tongue as well, almost champagne like as well.
A great tasting pils, could drink a lot of this.
