Lux finally has a big sister! Everything we love about our precious rye pale ale, but properly amplified. Chewy, pillow-soft, and dripping with stone fruit tones. Hopped with tons of hand-selected Mosaic and a kiss of Chinook as a nod to the original pilot recipe from 2014.

16 oz can.
Pours an opaque deep amber color with a large frothy khaki head. Moderate head retention. Leaves a nice ring of lacing around the top of the glass.
The aroma is quite pungent, with loads of melon and stone fruit, as well as pink grapefruit, orange juice, herbal tea, and fresh mixed berries. Herbal and grassy throughout, with a subdued darkness. Some grainy malts and rye hiding in the back.
The flavor follows the nose: Stone fruit, melon, and mango, followed by strong citrus, namely grapefruit and orange flesh. There's all kinds of sweet and lightly tart berries, with some black tea, pineapple, and grass. There's a significant cereal grain malt character that holds the backbone before an earthy, piney finish. Subtly dank and herbal throughout. Exceedingly well-balanced.
The feel is medium-full bodied with moderate carbonation. Creamy and smooth with a lingering bitterness.
Overall, this is an excellent mosaic Double IPA and definitely a great double version of Lux. It takes the fruity side of the mosaic hop, and blasts your senses with only a faint idea of the dank, oniony character the hop is known for. Give me this all day over Swish.
