On tap in Atlanta GA in June and November 2014 and April 2015. Average rating values used.

O a satisfying brown ale despite the mild aroma and failure of the flavor components to blend well. Little Belgian character in this brown other than some effects in the aroma and faint yeast in the taste.

look: 4.75 | smell: 4.5 | taste: 4.5 | feel: 4.5 | overall: 4.5

Appearance: Brilliant clear hazel body with a nice off-white 1.5 finger head that leaves excellent lacing.

Aroma: Yeast driven, with fruity and some Westmalle-esqe spices over dark fruit and toasty malt character. Figs, toast, and a hint of toffee.

Flavor: Malt bill takes over a bit more here, dark fruit and toast again. Yeast comes through spicy, with occasional hints of bubble gum.

Mouthfeel: Medium - Medium+ bodied, solid carbonation. Zero alcohol presence.

A great beer. Smooth but still the bit of spice to it.

Poured off tap into pint glass-
A- nice carmel brown color with minimal carbonation and a nice head
S- toasted malts with fig or similar fruit and spices
T- malts are evident on the front of palate and remain with a balanced finish of the Carmel and spice
F- the limited carbonation allows this to remain a nice medium bodied beer

This is a nice local brew well made!

Poured from a 12 OZ can into a pint glass. The appearance is a light brown amber with a small tan head. The aroma is slightly spiced. The taste is reminiscent of a medicinal taste.

A: Dark amber
S: Malty, like caramel and maple syrup
T: Sweet and boozy, but the finish is more bitter than a typical dubbel
M: Doesn't feel as thick and heavy as a traditional dubbel
O: A good beer, eminently drinkable but an Americanized version of the style

A: Very standard and somewhat bland brownish Dubbel look but it is just barely missing the mark on a a real Dubbel. Just not translucent enough for the style.
S: Good old fashioned malty, caramel, sweet scents with a very minor portion of crisp letting you know its and dub and not big brother quad.
T: Okay, yeh that's it. It is ok. It is a Dubbel. It has some profiles that aren't bad and it is a good weekend go to.
M: It has that slightly sticky sense of a Dubbel. Though I would say it is just light enough that I could trust others to take over the tasting and they wouldn't miscategorize the beer.
O: It won' pass the first round of many beer competitions, though. Just not enough going on to make it a good option. But that is it, a good option.
