Came here with a group of friends on my first visit; was flying solo the second time.

Had the following beers over the course of two sessions:
Le Trou du Diable Saison du Tracteur (draft)
Le Castor Yakima IPA (draft)
2012 Orval Trappist Ale (bottle)
Dieu du Ciel! Moralité American IPA (bottle)

Beers ranged from good to excellent. Also enjoyed the pork schnitzel on the second go-round. Service was good on both occasions. Prices are steep (as with all Bier Markt locations), but the quality is there. Overall, this is an above average bar that is worth a stop if you're in the area.

First time Montreal and we had the pleasure of grabbing a bite to eat and enjoying some great local beers. The waitstaff was very personable and open to offering suggestions from the menu. There wasn't a bad seat in the house if your looking to watch the game, as it seemed there was a TV in every corner of the bar. The food was a big step above your average bar food and you can tell the chef took pride in his menu. I was glad I went with the servers advice on the beers as they were outstanding.

A solid option in a part of town that is sometimes lacking. Food is good but fairly expensive--mostly nice pub fare with a Quebec spin on it. Beer selection is good as well. Yes, they fill up several taps with less-than-exciting options. But they also have a nice draft selection of local brews (Dieu de Ciel, for example) as well as an extensive bottle list, including options from all the Trappist breweries ($60 for Westy 12). Altogether worth a stop for a few beers and snacks.

Located in downtown Montreal as part of a chain which started in Toronto. As such, the look is polished as is the warmth of the place. There is a hostess with the expectation you'll be seated. We waited a long time for a server to come over. We were also largely ignored even though there were many servers and few patrons.

The food was decent but largely a knock off of the TGIFriday's style of pub grub. I ordered the most unusual item I saw, "duck wings". In reality, it was duck drumsticks which are about the size and shape of a single-bone chicken wing. It was tasty and unusual.

The bar featured many large TVs showing sports. There were many beers (over 30 on draft and 150 overall). The list leans to international, but there's also a sizable selection of Quebecker beers.

If you like chains with many of the most popular micro-brews, this would be a good place to start.

Located a block or two from the cathedral, along the main downtown drag, Bier Markt is an Ontario chain come to rest in Montreal. You will see it right off: there is a replica of the famous Mannekin Pis statue, the same one that dazzles the tourists in Brussels. The venue has an intense tourist-sports bar vibe, which I hate. Crowded and confusing, you could think you made a mistake upon entering. Once you sit down and gaze upon the massive beer list, everything is fine: it is a book containing a large selection of European drafts (Germany, Belgium, Czech Republic, etc.) along with several tasty Quebecois brews. Enjoyable finish to a day that began with several hours at the Biere de le Mondiale festival. Excellent menu with a wide selection, one of which was a delicious wiener schnitzel. (They did have poutine, as well - this being Montreal.) All in all, a worthy stop should you wish to escape the hipsters of the Latin Quarter.

This place is great. Nice large selection of bottles and taps (even got a 3F Oude Gueze, which flows like water in Canada apparently). The server's were super nice and there was a rockabilly band playing! It seems Canadians really like rockabilly because it was on in quite a few places in Quebec.

Very good place to have a bite or get good beer. If we're specifically talking about downtown or if we are specifically looking at getting imports, it is actually the best place.

Since it is a chain it has a really nice, together look to it. It is pleasingly set up with great taps, a pretty bar, a majestic staircase, a pissing boy with a Subban jersey out front, and so on.

The service has been very good every time I've gone and only questionable once (even then it was fine). Additionally, the menu is really well set up, divided logically by tap/bottle, style, import/domestic.

The food is also excellent. Although my only real gripe with the place is that the food is really expensive. However, it is really good. Good enough, in fact, that you won't mind paying for it.

This place is nice to have in Montreal. Sure, if you want Quebec beers on tap there are a few better places to go, but if you want to try something from another province or something European this is the place to go. If you are in town for an event, this is a good place to go to make good use of your time in trying an assortment of stuff. It is also the only option that I can think of to really get good beer downtown.

Apart from the excellent selection of beers available at Bier Markt-Montreal, it's also a beautiful looking place that serves really good food.

The decor is an interesting blend of modern, retro "moderne", and antique. It's got a sharp red/black theme that's accented by metal and wood. The bar top is zinc, but there are shiny sheets of diamond plate metal on the stairs down to the bathrooms. The red "leather" full-back stools look like something from the 50's, but there are also "antique" lamps. If you look upwards there's a false herringboned brick ceiling, and some possibly authentic tin ceiling as well. Towards the back there's a winding stairway beneath a crystal chandelier, leading up to a landing that features a replica of the "mannequin pis" on the left and a painting beyond it that looks as if it could have been done by Pieter Brueghel the Younger himself. It's a mishmash, or haberdasher, which makes it so interesting. Oh, did I forget the big screen TV's? Needless to say, it's worth a visit just to check it out. At least get a beer at the bar.

As far as beer destinations in this area go, Bier Kraft offers some of the best food at the most reasonable prices. Please do not make the mistake of going to Vieux Dublin for Fish & Chips and a pint of their house beer (Labatt 50), or Les 3 Brasseurs for a crowded, raced meal of Flammekueches and Burgers when you can get better Flammekuches, Oysters, Moules et Frites, Schnitzel, Wurst, Risotto, and Burgers, Tuna, and Steaks here.

Back to the beer: 46 (?) taps, and about 130 beers in bottle from around the world. You won't find that right nearby. And perhaps you don't need an Orval or a Lucky Buddah Lager, and are only interested in biéres du Canada, well they've got a pretty good selection of some of the best brews from the best producers.

The final touch is the service, which I found friendly, attentive, and interested in beer and food. When you're in Montreal be sure to stop by.

Came here last weekend for a quick pint. Very stylish decor yet has pub feel. Upstairs is a bit more upscale looking. Service was friendly and prompt. Beer selection is excellent....for what it is. A out-of-towner might not be impressed but there isn't many places (none?) that have over 20 taps of imports including Rodenbach and classics like Paulaner and Erdinger. Pints are pricey, the Erdinger cost me just under 10$ for a 16oz. Vast selection of bottles as well, prices are a bit high (though not as much as Le Saint-Bock). 2 blocks from the Bell Centre makes this a perfect place to grab a beer before or after an event.
