After a couple of months in Westchester, the wife is running out of places to hang out and drink good beer. Turns out we’ve never been to Ossining, so there we go… found the Keenan on BA.

The old downtown of Ossining is kind of cool and has potential, even though it doesn’t have a lot of businesses. Keenan is a small storefront, with a bar upfront and a dining area on the back.

12 taps on the chalkboard menu, including Ninkasi Tricerahops, Singlecut Half Stack, Port City Optimal, Great Divide Nomad, Old Raspy, Allagash Tripel, Thirsty Dog Leghumper…

The bottle list is long, and while they don’t have anything extreme or crazy good, they do offer some deals: most bombers are priced at around 14-15 dollars (as opposed to $25 in most places), and a couple of them are twelve bucks. I scored an Avery Hog Heaven for doce dolares! Also Chimay Premiere…

Food-wise, the menu is gigantic. The wife sarcastically remarked that the owners must be Greek, because the menu is as long as a diner’s, and they are seemingly try to please everyone with wraps, sandwiches, soups, burgers, hummus, salads, pizzas, burgers and you name it… there are 18 different appetizers, 5 salads and 5 burgers, to give you an idea… we shared a pizza and it was delicious.

Easily, one of the best places out in Westchester. Seriously. I may not sound massively enthusiastic, but I do like this place.

The best beer spot in Ossining, NY. Which is not saying all that much, but this place is a worthy spot for a few beers and a bite.

Small bar up front, with about 12 quality taps and more then a mess of mostly worthwhile bottles. The main restaurant space is to the rear. Comfortable and casual, non pretentious and comfortable enough. Food was decent in a "trying to be the Birdsal House kinda way"
Service was adequate, prices reasonable.

I'm not in love with the place, but it would work mostly for a date nite meal in a place with a better then average beer list.

Ossining does not have many (if any) decent beer spots...this place moves to the head of the list....
