What little head was present is completely gone within five minutes. Absolutely no lace. The color is amber and clear.
The smell is like an English style Bitter. I do not detect any Belgian (yeast) notes.
The crystal malt flavors dominate this beer. One might think plum is present in the beer, but there is a beach named Plum on the island. I certainly didn't detect any. There’s a very light burnt taste which adds complexity. The hop is a gentle touch, but present in the swallow. The aftertaste leans to the malt. The body is rich with a moderate carbonation. Again, no Belgian notes that would lead me to think "Dubbel".
