Growled from Premium Draught in Houston.

A: Pours a hazed amber/copper color. A loud pop as I crack the top, with a towering and rocky white head. Excellent retention and rings of lace.
S: The hops hit big up front, as I would expect. Grassy, floral, a bit juicy with an oily presents. While the hops are big it is still perfectly balanced with biscuit and caramel malts in the background.
T: follows the nose. Grassy and fruity hops dominate. The hop flavor is great but I really like how the malts are still there. Toasted caramel and biscuit. Finishes with dank bitterness that reminds you of the fresh hops.
M/D: A medium body with a crisp effervescent bite. Oily from the fresh hops as well. So easy and enjoyable to drink. The growler will be gone in no time.

I now it is a different beer, but the malts remind me of Amber. Though the hop punch let's you know this is very different. Really well done I think. Saint Arnold continues to kill it this year.

I almost missed this one on a local bar menu thinking it was their other IPA, the respectable but not particularly memorable Elissa. Always willing to try a new St. Arnold, I ordered it.

Appearance - spot-on for an IPA. Nice vibrant yellow with a cotton white head. Nice lacing retained throughout.

Smell - Hop heaven! This beer is supposedly 100% citra and they come out in full force in the aroma. Grassy, floral - just heaven for your nose. The aroma sets high expectations.

Mouthfeel - Good carbonation, just what you'd expect from an IPA.

Taste - Wonderful. The taste follows the smell - pure, unfiltered hop heaven. St. Arnold let the hops do the talking and it's a symphony of bitter grassiness and clean finish. There's not much maltiness to go against the hops, but the beer still tastes balanced. The hops linger for quite some time, so be sure you have some palete cleanser if you are going to try a complex saison or stout afterwards. Better to let this finisher.

Overall this was an extremely enjoyable IPA. It is head and shoulders above their Elissa. I will be seeking this one out again, but I don't think it will be around for long.

Had this on tap at Saint Arnold’s brewery
Appearance wise it is an amber/ wood reddish color with a soft half to one finger head
Smells of fresh cut grass with citrus notes, very mild, but refreshing
The taste follows the nose. It is definitely a mild version of an IPA, the “Fresh Hops” comes through as simply refreshing, few grassy, citrus notes, it is balance with malts and an not in your face hops
Very drinkable and refreshing, it meets the expectations of what the brewery was shooting for. Not a traditional IPA
Quoting Saint Arnold's
“Fresh hop 2013 Ale is an IPA brewed with freshly harvested Citra hops that were overnighted to us and then used immediately in the brew. We have had to use over five times the amount of fresh hops as we would use dry hops in a recipe. The fresh hops contribute a grassier flavor and softer bitter than the dry hops do.”
