Saint Arnold Amber Ale is the brewery's flagship product and first official brew. A well balanced, full flavored, amber ale, it has a rich, malty body with a pleasant caramel character derived from a specialty Caravienne malt. A complex hop aroma, with a hint of floral and citrus comes from a combination of Cascades and Liberty hops. It has a rich, creamy head with a fine lace. The light fruitiness, characteristic of ales, is derived from a proprietary yeast strain.

Saint Arnold Amber Ale has a thick, spongy, egg-shell head and a clear, very bubbly amber appearance, with moderate lacing. The aroma is of yeasty white bread crust, and the flavor is of that, too, with mild sweetness, noticeable bitterness, and honey. Saint Arnold Amber Ale has a medium body and a crisp finish.

The beers pours a golden color, somewhat clear with little haze. White decent head, doesn't last long and lingers a little.
The smell is sweet and malty, with a hint of floral hops. And some of the alcohol comes through also.
The taste is a that of caramel and malt, and little sweet, it is followed by some hop bitterness.
Very well balanced and quite delicious. It has a good body and carbonation. Very refreshing and overall good.

Not bad, but nothing stands out. Perhaps the flavor faded after nearly six months in a can.

Pours a copper in color with shades of gold. Lots of carbonation, large bubbles, like a soda. Head is foamy but dissipates to a creamy layer atop. Minimal lacing as you drink. It's lighter than I expected and the carbonation looks a bit strong. Honey, toffee, toast and floral, spicy hops. Smells like a pretty balanced amber. The honey and roasty, caramel malts hit up front, followed by a grassy, lemon hoppiness. The lingering flavor is a mixture of lemon peel and sweet, toasty grains. As the beer warms, alcohol comes through a little bit. The mouthfeel is strange. At first the carbonation is actually pretty solid, but it diminishes as the beer sits. The body is pretty thin, even a bit watery. I could use a bit more creaminess. Overall, this is an enjoyable beer that lives up to its label -- it is quite balanced. The flavors are solid, if unspectacular. I've had better from this brewery, but this isn't bad. Wouldn't seek it out but wouldn't turn it down, either.
EDIT: seems to be a bit better from the can.

I don't know what the average Beeradvocate user would think, but this is my favorite beer on earth. Smooth, well-balanced, malty, delicious, and a perfect balance of warmth and crispness. Having one makes everything better, so stop reading this and go out and get one.
