Notes:
An authentic, copper colored, German-style Bock, celebrating the coming of spring. This big, deeply flavored lager has been aged to create a smooth, malty taste with a hint of sweetness. A light addition of German hops balances the malt flavor.

poured from the 12 oz bottle into my new belgium goblet:
A = copper/orange - super clear, and light head settles quick the a thin film , NO LACING at all.
S gentle , understated (read WEAK) malty to the nose
T about the same as above ^ a nice malty taste but nothing further
M solid, standard carbonation, no ABV on the palate
D good sessioner IMHO - dive in deep to this standard beer.

first off thanks to UHCougar12 for this beer! translucent copper body with a thin off white head that settles rather quickly. taste and smell are very similiar, no big surprises. nice bready malt body with some caramel make this an easy drinkin bock. medium body and a slight crispness make an enjoyable bock beer.

I am not a fan of bocks.
The first sip on this one starts off really sweet. Thankfully that tones down on further tastes. Still pretty malty sweet. Smooth feel with a mild carbonation. A fairly easy-to-drink brew. Been ages since I've had a bock, or at least I can't recall the last time I had one. This isn't all too bad really.

I am not a fan of bocks.
The first sip on this one starts off really sweet. Thankfully that tones down on further tastes. Still pretty malty sweet. Smooth feel with a mild carbonation. A fairly easy-to-drink brew. Deep amber, clear. Mild head and carbonation.
Sweet malt/hop nectar. Ripe fruits, apple and grape. Buttery, toffee, bread.
Bready, biscuit, and buttery. Apple and grape.
Nice carbonation, mild foamation.
Not the best Bock but kudos to the effort; I dont see many around here. I would definitely go for another next time I have Bockish cravings.

T: Robust, malty character. A bit woody. Has something of a synthetic sweetness.
M: Thick and syrupy. A bit of a cloying aftertaste remains.
D: Not much resistance. Goes down easy.
Atmosphere is decent. Nice hue, medium carbonation, not much head or lacing. Nose is malty with some sweet notes. Syrupy, woody malt character, with a cloying synthetic sweetness. Overall, this is a pretty good quaff.

Appearance: Clear copper body with a decent creamy head that dissipates quickly
Aroma: Nice balance of malt and hops with just a tinge of booze
Taste: Roasted malt and citrusy hops dominate weaker tones of dark fruit, grains and nuts with the alcohol slipping in right at the end
Mouthfeel: Creamy and smooth with a good amount of carbonation
Drinkability: Goes down smoothly with a nice bitter aftertaste, I could easily drink a few of these despite the alcohol content
Verdict: Spring Bock is a well-balanced dark lager with rich malt and crisp citrus hiding above-average potency. With this beer Saint Arnold is really forcing me to rethink my standards for a good bock, and I love them for it.

Received this along with the rest of the Saint Arnold series from a fine gentleman down in Texas. I was excited to try this one, as it is one of my favorite styles. Poured out a deep russet brown, very clear with lots of carbonation, really quite nice and a classic look for a bock. Thin off white head formed on the top, but quickly faded to just a thin film that stayed throughout the session, but offered no side glass contribution.
The aroma was your classic malty bock. Nice sweet caramel and nutty aromas mixed in with a good earthy tone. The flavor followed through very closely with a nice bitter malty flavor and a good amount of sweetness in it as well. Carbonation that is more then decent never let it go flat and kept you entertained throughout the session. Easily a sessionable beer, as I could have thrown down more then one.
Overall, I thought this was a very solid offering from them. I would have no issues with drinking this one down regular. Very nice offering.

Looks golden with a little red in it. Smells of lots of flavor, light but complex - almost citrusy, can't quite put my finger on it. Tastes sweet and heavy, what I smelled came back for more. Heavier on the tongue than I would have expected, given the color, but right for a bock. Carbonated just right. I probably couldn't drink as much of this in one sitting as I want - our Texas spring is like everyone else's deep summer, I imagine this would be a lot better in a cooler evening after some hard labor in the sun.

L - clear amber color with a beige head that thinned to a layer leaving spotty lacing.
S - malty sweetness and earthy Euro hop aromas.
T - sweet malty taste upfront with just enough bittering thrown in before finishing sticky sweet.
F - medium bodied with good carbonation.
D - good brew, celebrate Spring!

A - Finger of off-white foam quickly settles to a partial collar and cap. Attractive transparent copper body with plenty of visible bubbles rising and adhering to the sides of the glass.
S - Toffee, nuts, berries, bread, perhaps some light floral hopping. Smells like a pretty typical bock.
T - Taste is somewhat unusual, as there is an odd tropical fruit note mingling with the caramel and grainy malts. It's a bit out of character for the style but I find it strangely enjoyable. Finishes with some light herbal bitterness.
M - Tingly and perhaps a touch overcarbonated for my liking. Otherwise it's a pleasantly medium-light in body, with a surprisingly dry finish.
D - A slightly above-average bock. Probably the definition if 'B' beer. Enjoyable in the moment, but not something I'd seek out again. Carbonation zest would keep me from having multiple bottles/pints.

I really like this seasonal offering from Saint Arnold's Brewery. Full of flavor and offers a refreshing change from the dark beers of winter. Not that I don't like the dark beers (I do) but sometimes, change is good.

First off, once again i'm biased about these guys, i like em' and what they are doing in Texas. Had this at a BBQ and found it very easy to drink, amlost too easy. I was not a fan of the damination of the caramely malty notes, kind of over-powered the beer. Good beer, but not one of the better ones from these guys.
