Notes:
A beautiful, deep copper brown ale. It has a full, malty body with hints of chocolate, a touch of sweetness and a light hop flavor. A complex malt character is created by combining five different types of malts. It has a rich, creamy head with a fine lace. The light fruitiness, characteristic of ales, is derived from a proprietary yeast strain.
At Saint Arnold, we are passionate about animal rescue. A number of us here are proud to have rescue animals as family members. To this end, we are donating a portion of the sales of Ale Wagger to support local rescue organizations to improve the lives of animals in our communities.

Pours an effervescent hazel with one finger of tan head. Average head retention & lacing
S: A little toastyness
T: Toastyness, sweet nuttyness & a little woody hop up front. Dryness & toastyness dominate as this warms, plus sweet nuttyness. finishes nutty & dry
MF: Medium body, light carbonation
Solid easy drinking brown, the lack of nose, the only real detractor

This one pours a nice brown color like Texas iced tea with a thin short lived head that left no lacing.
The nose is a spicy malty experience with some nice earth a grassy notes.
The taste is fairly good and dry with a crisp hop finish that is reminiscent of a revved up old speckled hen.
The mouthfell is crisp and dry.
Overall an exceptionally good and drinkable ale.

A: Pours crystal clear burnt amber/light brown color. A dense two finger white head forms with good retention and lace is left all the way down the glass.
S: Up front is a powerful fruit cake like sweetness and caramel malts. Almost jarring up front in that regard. A nuanced toasted malt and light grainy character comes out as this warms.
T: Again, up front is a large sweetness and fruit cake, almost ester like fruits even. The sweetness becomes a bit cloying in the middle. Though, like the nose, finishes with more of a toasted and grainy character.
M/O: A medium body, actually maybe a touch light for what I like in a Brown. Well carbonated, crisp, and clean though. The nearly cloying sweetness keeps this from being fantastic, but as is still enjoyable every once in a while. No issues putting a few away when in the mood.
I remember the old Saint Arnold Brown Ale, and this is pretty much exactly as I remember. A fairly straight forward, no frills Brown that is not very exciting. A bit to sweet, even for my tastes, but like everything Saint Arnold does this is exactly what they wanted to make. A not exceptional, but serviceable brown.

got this at the local market:
A: pours just a bit darker than honey. DISappointing head - almost ZERO! foams a lot like ginger ale, just abrief fizz and settles to clear no head, no lacing at all - LOW marks for appearance. ULTRA clear - light shines right thru
S: not much to the nose - a bit of sweet maltiness
T: mostly fizz to the taste , with a watery after feel
M: BLAND - not much to speak of here, just fuzzy brew
D: guzzle by the dozens - they ought to be free or next to free!

A tasty, light, easy to drink brown ale. Much of what I've had from St Arnold is real drinkable, and this one is no different. It's got a nice brown ale character but isn't overly sweet, and isn't overly high on ABV, but IS high on refreshing. Another one to enjoy from St Arnold.
