Pours a pitch black color with a thick, brown, foamy head. Head retention and lacing are both excellent. Has a mildly roasted malty aroma with some strong coffee. Very creamy, smooth taste with roasted malts and strong, bitter, coffee at the end. The aftertaste persists with bitter coffee. More full bodied with moderate carbonation. Very good offering.

On tap at St. Arnold's beer hall. I must say this is the first of the style I've ever even relatively enjoyed, probably because it is so fresh and light bodied. Awesome chocolate, coffee etc and I don't even like those things. The finish is a little more hoppy which is probably why I love it. Smooth drinking.

Appearance: Dark brown, shows clarity and a good deal of light when back lit, hold a very thin tan halo but doesn't lace.
Aroma: Light, some coffee, some toffee sweetness, a light bready yeast.
Taste: Flavor is a little thin, some roasted coffee beans but not particularly bitter, porter sweetness comes through with some roasted grain and malty sugar, but it all fades away pretty quickly. Clean, much lighter than the dark glass leads you to think.
Mouthfeel: Medium to light body, gritty carbonation level, smooth finish.
Overall: Tasty, but fairly restrained, a little thin but well within a Porter range. While it didn't WOW me, it is fairly sophisticated and well put together.
