Notes:
An American IPA brewed with Texas grapefruit, this beer features tropical and citrus notes from Galaxy, Columbus, Simcoe, and Cascade hops. A mild caramel sweetness in the malt body provides balance, but lets the hops shine.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours an amber color with a one finger head of billowy white foam. The head has a decent level of retention, slowly fading over time to leave islands of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is strongest of a sweet ruby red grapefruit smell mixed with a decent showing of tropical fruits of tangerine, papaya, and mango. Along with these smells comes a little bit of a candied sugar and cotton candy smells as well as a rather light pine aroma.
Taste – The taste begins with a nice lightly toasted doughy taste that has a moderate amount of sweet caramel and fruity tastes of a tropical fruit nature of tangerine, papaya, and mango. There is also a little bit of grapefruit upfront as well as some candy sweet/cotton candy flavors right upfront. The sweeter tastes of a sugary candy nature get quite a bit stronger as the taste moves forward, with the grapefruit getting slightly stronger as well. At the same time a little bit of a herbal hop comes to the tongue and melds well with the sweet grapefruit, leaving one with a nice and robust, sweet and citrus hopped taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is light and crisp for a 7.5 % abv brew with a carbonation level that is rather normal. For the most part, the feel is quite nice and makes for an easy sipping brew with lots of flavor.
Overall – A rather nice citrus and sweet IPA. Quite tasty and one I will certainly go back to again and again. Hopefully they incorporate this into a more year round delivery.

An incredible deal at Walmart for $4.98 a 6 pack of bottles. Overall a nicely done, but there is an off aftertaste of grapefruit peel bitterness I found distracted from an otherwise very good beer.

A: Pours a perfectly clear copper/orange color. A dense two finger white head forms with excellent retention and plenty of sticky lace left in rings.
S: Aromatic citrus hops. Orange and grapefruit rind. Even some pine and resin working its way in there. Fairly simple, and I'm not sure how much is from the actual fruit added. Though enjoyable.
T: Like the nose, with plenty of orange and grapefruit rind. The grapefruit certainly builds and becomes a little "juicy", with some piney hops. Also just a touch of caramel malts. Though finishes with a nice bitterness.
M/O: A medium body with good carbonation. Crisp and super clean. Like everything Saint Arnold does, this is easy to drink and I can come back to this with ease.
I'm almost always against adding fruit to an IPA just to augment the hop flavors already present. The addition here is very minimal however. What is here is a nice IPA with a hint more grapefruit juice than a typical clean/non hazy IPA would have. Saying that, I do enjoy this. Again, Saint Arnold proves to make clean well made examples of whatever they set to make. Whether or not that translates to you as an individual liking, well you will just have to try it. I would say most would enjoy this as I do.

Nose is subtle grapefruit. Tropical fruit, citrus, hoppy grapefruit
Taste follows. Tropical fruit, guava, pine, resin, subtle grapefruit rind. The way a grapefruit IPA should be (the grapefruit --or any fruit addition in an IPA--subtly supports the hops. does not dominate). Slight malty caramel/toffee backbone. Good balance

Bit of a disappointment. Not a repeater.
Poured from a bottle into a tulip glass. Clear golden yellow color decent head and lacing. Fresh grapefruit smell but little of this carried to the taste. Felt a bit thin. Surprised it is rated as high as it is.

Looks effervescent and golden with a slight haze. Decent head, fair lacing.
Nose is bready malt with a hoppy pine aroma. Really nice for what I like. Not so much grapefruit, but that’s not so bad here whatsoever.
More citrus in the taste, yellow grapefruit and its citrus rind, with juicy pine and plenty of bitterness.
Nice crisp mouthfeel with moderate to ample carbonation, medium body feel and a mild syrupy aspect.
Slightly exceeded expectations. A winter IPA for sure, to me this beer is to St. Arnold what Celebration IPA is to Sierra Nevada.
