Kept in the cellar from 09 to 17

Appearance: Deep brown glass is opaque and holds a thin cover of tan foam and a halo that laces.

Aroma: Smoky, purple grapes.

Taste: Smoke flavor is slightly peaty, and at a wonderful level where it is firm but doesn't overpower the other flavors. Malt comes in nicely, with a very slightly sweet finish but generally well balanced.

Mouthfeel: Soft, low carbonation, medium heavy body.

Overall: A winner from the cellar. Aged very nicely, no oxidation noted, just well blended flavors.

2008 bottle consumed may 2015. Low carb, no head or lacing. Heavy alcohol on the nose. Boozy and not really enjoyable. Not sure if time did this one in or if it was bad from the start.

2009? or 2008 bottle drank 2014

I had yet to drink a St Arnold beer that really impressed me but this aged one did it and went way over the top

Chewy and heavy with beautiful apricot and date flavors covering the palate with a mild boozy taste as well, but oh so mild. I am typing this from memory so I don't remember what else I was smelling but I do remember the bouquet kept revealing something new and interesting.

The bouquet and taste of this aged beer are skies and seas of taste.
