Saint Arnold SantoSaint Arnold Santo

Brewed by:
Saint Arnold Brewing Company
Texas, United States

Style: Kölsch

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 4.70%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
Santo is a black Kölsch, which technically doesn’t exist as a style, but this is as close as we can come to describing it. Essentially it is brewed using a Kölsch recipe with the addition of Munich and black malt. It is light bodied and floral yet with a distinct dark malt flavor. Our goal was to create a dark yet refreshing beer that would pair perfectly with a plate of enchiladas.

The label artwork is by Houston artist Carlos Hernandez who is known for his Day of the Dead Rock Star series of paintings and prints.

A-clear dark brown with a tan head that faded fast and leave no lace on the glass
S-toffee amd sweet malt
T- slight roast taste with a slight bitterness in the aftertaste that finishes with a roasted taste
M-watery and low carbonation
O-this would be a great beer for those that do not like heavy coffee taste or a hard bitter taste

Poured a dark reddish brown. It almost looks ruby around the edges. Nice off white head of tight knit bubbles. The smell is a bit of coffee, a touch of sweet malt.

The flavor is a bit thin but malty. It is nice, drinkable. A good session beer.

Reminds me of a negro modelo.
