Aroma was all hops. Grapefruit, resin and a little soapy. Pour was a nice clear burnt orange with a one finger off white head. Taste was OK. A little watery. The grapefruit and resin were very strong. A nice but slight malt backbone weaves in and out. This beer is fitting that it is made in the middle of the country. Has a nice west coast hoppiness, but a noticeable chewy maltiness as well. Turns to water in the finish which was disappointing. Nice carbonation round this beer out.

22oz bottle from (thanks man!). No apparent bottling information. Served in my Phish snifter.

Pours a hazy orange hued brown with a three quarter finger cream head. The froth fades slowly to a modest halo, leaving a good deal of lace.

Smells outstandingly citrusy with loads of tangerine and clementine. Grapefruit, a touch of bread and some light spicy hop notes. Nice.

As in the nose, tangerines really lead the parade of flavors. Orange zest, grapefruit, pine, bread, sweet caramel malt, some pepper, a little honey and a modest kick of booze. A good mix of citrus hops and sweet malt. Drinks very smooth considering it's almost 9% abv.

Slick, medium full body with medium carbonation. Lingering sweet malt and orangey finish.

A well balanced and quite tasty imperial IPA. Well worth a try for it's pleasantly citrusy profile. Outstanding.

Aggressive pour yields a three inch slightly off white head. Body is of orange/amber. Great head retention, clumptastic lacing.

Floral/take citrus notes in the nose.

Juicy citrus hops borderlining on dankiness but not quite. Subtle bitterness, very nice. Drinks like its 6.5%abv.

Medium mouthfeel, medium carbonation.

Extremely drinkable IPA outta Texas. Shared with the most beautiful beer drinker ever, fdkayti. Thanks for the Southwest Top 50 tick kojevergas!

Appearance - pours amber with a great head and some solid lacing.

Nose - biscuit malts, amber character some hop notes but it is very muted compared to the west coast style - super east coast'y, immediately reminds me of 90 minute both in smell and taste. Once it warms, the hop character comes out a bit but it is still subtle - artificial citrus and some pine. Almost a desert wine character (again reminiscent of Dogfish). Smell is not what I expect from a DIPA but it is so interesting we can't knock it.

Taste - a solid amber malt backbone, caramel structure, round alcohol warmth and a good hop kick at the end, finishes more hoppy than you expect, mouthfeel is viscous at the front but finishes very smooth, nothing spectacular but tasty nonetheless.

Overall a solid example of an early-boil, very balanced east coast DIPA - though I very much prefer our local style, this is both drinkable and structured for this type of IPA, thanks for sending Wes!
