Wow. Wow. So juicy! Had this after about six pints and two bourbons, and at that point was still able to be absolutely stunned and jaw-dropped, which in my twisted mind, says something good! Go drink now, in quantities. Can't wait to have the next one!!!

Served on tap in a pint glass.

Appearance: Golden color with a thick white head.

Smell: Citrus and pines notes.

Mouthfeel/Taste: Smooth Medium Bodied. Taste of bitter hops and citrus.

Overall: Good IPA, nothing too special, but enjoyable no the less.

Pours a nice orange amber color. Thin head. Not much aroma but what is there is a pleasant malt smell. That nice sweet malt continues into the taste. Maybe a slight citrus and herbal hop flavor behind it. No off flavors at all, just a clean ale. Feel is slightly sticky.

This is a great malt forward pale ale. Just well done.

Consumed 8/17/18

A: Light copper with some golden highlights - clear - pours with a medium size, off-white head, slowly fades to very little, but retains a small collar and leaves some spots of lacing

S: C-hops, in moderation, with a touch of Citra - orange and some grapefruit, floral with a touch of juice and zest - notes of soft pine and some spice - pillowy, soft malt base with a touch of bread and biscuit

T: Wonderfully balanced - citrus, orange and grapefruit, with some floral notes and some zest - herbal hops and some leafy hops, soft pine needles, hint of pine resin - low bitterness - touch of earth - extraordinarily clean malt base with some depth and texture, light bread, crackers, some biscuit

M: On the light side of medium, smooth with a crisp finish, medium to low carbonation, extraordinarily clean, insanely drinkable

O: Yes, I'll have the pale

I have only been to the Tributary taproom twice, and both times I observed that the clientele was perhaps a bit older than many other taprooms in 2018, particularly those pumping out hazy IPAs and kettle sours blended with cake and toilet water. It may be because this reflects an older approach to a pale ale. It's wonderfully balanced and drinkable. Or maybe the crowd at Tributary is just old enough to understand that this is the type of beer that you want to drink all day, every day.

First had at Robert's Maine Grill, Kittery, Maine on 1/2-pint draft into small Pilsner glass. Clean, dry and even slightly tart pale ale, which pairs well with oysters.

Another one had at the brewery.

Very nice creamy head, great lacing, mostly clear honey orange color.

Nose bright fruity hops, Amarillo like fruit notes, citra like orange juice and tropical notes, with a nice centennial like spicy notes and grapefruit pith.

Taste brings nice fruity hops, decent bitterness with little spicy hop note, a big bitter rind like, very grapefruit rind and fruity bubblegum, a strange combination, and the taste after finishing grapefruit juice, nice rind pith, just a touch of copper tan malts. Finish long bitterness, more pith and rind lingering, more citrus.

Mouth is med bod, decent but slightly under carbed.

Overall pretty nice, interesting hops but slight weird play between bitter pith and bubblegum fruity flavors, but still well done and enjoyable.
