On-tap at Pig Pounder Brewery, Greensboro, NC
A: The beer is hazy yellow in color. It poured with a thin white head that eventually completely faded away.
S: Light aromas of baker's yeast—akin to to packages of active dry yeast you purchase from a grocery store—are present in the nose along with hints of orange juice.
T: The taste is similar to the smell, but the orange juice flavors are a bit stronger and subdue most of the baker's yeast. No sweetness or acidity from the juice is perceptible.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation. The light and bubbly nature of the mouthfeel reminds me a little like a mimosa.
O: This kvass is definitely a lot more drinkable compared to most of the other beers I've had in this style—the addition of the orange juice makes it more palatable, similar to how you might add syrup to a Berliner Weissbier.

A: Pours a cloudy apple cider golden yellow in color with minimal amounts of gentle visible carbonation along the surface of the beer and a extremely thin fizzy off-white head that quickly disappears. No lacing is observed.
S: Moderate aromas of orange juice over light aromas of baker's yeast. Slight hints of graininess.
T: Upfront there is a light flavor of grainy malts with a hint of rye spiciness. That is followed by light to moderate flavors of orange juice and a light flavor of baker's yeast (I have done the Jim Koch challenge). Minimal amounts of bitterness in the finish which does not linger.
M: Light to medium bodied with light amounts of carbonation.
O: Super easy to drink and refreshing, very enjoyable. This goes down very easily on a warm summer afternoon and would likely be a nice complement with brunch. Alcohol is well hidden and it reminds me a bit of a radler/shandy.
