Uber fresh bottle. Pretty much everything I look for in a DIPA. Oranges, Tangerines, Apricots, being nice and juicy upfront with a drying finish. Great balance of citrus to Pine. Extremely well executed West Coast Double. The 9% is nowhere to be found. Dangerous beer. Very highly recommended.

No bottled on date, grabbed it at my local Bristol Farms.

Pours a gold-flecked Orange, almost more like a burnt umber. A good three finger head of frothy white foam that’s slow to bubble away, leaving a good residual lace.

The nose hits your right away with strong citrus and malt, and as it fades you get that resinous pine aroma. This one so far has all the makings of an ideal West Coast IPA.

A very good balance again of malt and sweet citrus rind. The hops hit in the back, and settle in simply as an afterthought to balance the subtly tropical, citrusy, malty symphony of flavors. Finishes with a good amount of residual bitterness.

It’s got a low but even carb, and actually drinks very softly. There is a light resinous film left behind with a little bit of stickiness, but the body on this is great.

No bottle date

Appearance - Pours clear and orange copper in color with an off-white, finger width head. Decent retention, resulting in a thin, consistent layer of suds and a solid ring around the edge of the glass. Great lacing, with broken sheeting and spotting found around the glass

Smell - Grapefruit and pine notes with candied orange sweetness, caramel and toasted malt.

Taste - Follows the nose. Orange and grapefruit hoppiness with lesser pine and spice. Malts hit strongly mid-taste with caramel and toasted breadiness. Finishes with pithy bitterness and lingering toastiness.

Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. Slick texture makes this a super smooth drinker with a mostly dry finish.

Overall - Tasty brew. Very reminiscent of Alpine Pure Hoppiness. Maybe a bit too much, as the latter is a fairly unique DIPA offering....

Overall, an impressive double IPA. It's heavy on the juicy citrus but finishes dry and there's just a hint of booze. It doesn't hit as many stand-out high notes as the very best DIPAs, but it's expertly balanced and wonderfully drinkable (for a 9%er).

Nose is on point with this DIPA, all tropical fruit and such. The palate gets a bit sticky as it goes, with a surprising bitter/boozy punch as well. It's headed in the right direction, though, and I think, with a little fine tuning, could be a really strong beer. Knowing Bottle Logic, I imagine they'll continue to tinker.
