Deep brown pour, thin yellow head of foam.. no lace.
Lots of coffee on the nose, bitter chocolate follow. Hints of finishing malt and molasses.
Really nailed the chocolate cake flavors upfront. Sweet chocolate that’s followed up by dark roast. The bitter coffee lingers a bit too strong.
Medium body, low but present carb throughout. Pretty good body, could used a little more weight

On nitro tap at Bottle Logic Brewing in Anaheim, CA.
This one pours a thick and glossy looking black, with the classic cascading effect.
This smells like German chocolate cake with a ton of vanilla frosting- very sweet smelling. There's definitely sweet coconut, vanilla cream, and a bit of chocolate.
The nitro admittedly seems to steal some of the beer's potential complexities. It's a little flat, but the coconut here is done nicely. It's got creamy chocolate and vanilla, but very little roast character, which is disappointing.
This is very creamy, and very drinkable, with the expected fluffy nitrogen feel.
I wish this was on C02- but it's still a fun beer nonetheless.
