Notes:
Redeye November features an exclusive blend of Brazil Oberon and Sumatran beans from our friends at Mostra Coffee. Flavors of dark fruit, Baker's chocolate and caramelized sugar meld with the spicy rye malt and bittersweet molasses of Darkstar November, our original barrel-aged beer. Yet another piece to the grand puzzle...

500 mL bottle poured into a snifter.
Near black with a thin mocha brown head quickly dissipating into lacing.
Nose: Exceptional blend of spicy rye whiskey and espresso, nice vanilla and oak undertones. Tons of depth.
Taste: Rye barrel hits first followed quickly by espresso. Milk chocolate and molasses also present. Finishes with some alcohol heat, coffee, and lingering spice from the rye. Massive presence from both the coffee and the barrel, incredibly impressive.
Feel: Full-bodied with some bite from the rye, medium carbonation

On draft at Bottle Logic.
Pours blacks with a tiny brown head (almost no head)
Aroma - wafts of coffee and vanilla
Taste - as good as you can get for a coffee stout. Coffee is amazing, followed by huge vanilla taste which I think is the combination of molasses and the heavy barrel presence.
Mouthfeel - is full and silky/creamy. Bottle logic is one of the best in the world at the stout game and this mouthfeel shows it
overall: this is as good as a BA coffee stout gets

Beautiful black color with brown foam. Beautiful smell, complex flavor yet easy to drink. Coffee present without the burnt old coffee flavor. A superior version of Dark Star November.

How do you make a great beer better? You add Mostra Coffee of course. Super Roasty, delightful and delicious. Still get that rye spice but it pairs so well with the coffee beans. A+

Served cold from bottle. Pours a viscous, jet black with a barely-there brown head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is dominated by rye, oak and alcohol. I got no coffee on the nose. The taste - to me at least - is overly sweet. I would go so far as to describe it as cloying. It is also very sticky so the sweetness lingers through the warm, bourbon finish. The sweetness gave way slightly as it warmed to almost room temperature but not enough to fully enjoy it. Overall I'd say I prefer the base beer, but if you like your imperial stouts on the sweet side you'll enjoy this.

Thanks to TSF3535 for this 500ML bottle. Darkstar was so good that expectations for this one are 14er high. Let’s go get winded.
Blackness goes into the chalice, & luckily nothing comes back out (right away). Touch of bourbon, chocolate, & enough coffee that I’m left hoping that doesn’t drown the rest of the goodness.
Red Eye November reminds me - some - of my first orgasmic experience with BCS Coffee. The coffee is on top, but not running down the other components like a Pinto over a squirrel. The bourbon, plus vanilla, comes on strong right after, & the mixture is exquisite. Mid-palate the subtleties do end up partial road-kill: chocolate, pepper, rye are there, but further in the background, & it’s tough to tease the maple sweetness out of the malts & barrel. But that’s quibbling that the Pinto didn’t get good gas mileage (it didn’t, but I was more concerned about getting cooked). Thick & full of alcohol, yet another B.L. beer I could drink an ice chest full of.
Naturally I have to rate this against Darkstar, & it’s found wanting, much like I’d find Lena Headey wanting after an encounter with Shanda Fay. A world-class beer.

This one pours a dark black, with small head, a slight maple-syrup looking film on top of the beer, and barely any head.
This smells like nutty and fruity coffee, vanilla frosting, bourbon, maple, and molasses.
The molasses is definitely there, but it definitely comes off as very sweet maple syrup to me. There's coffee, sweet nuts, a little bit of rye, caramelized raisins, vanilla, sweet cream, and just a little bit of bourbon.
This is very, very creamy, with a lower level of carbonation. This drinks like silk. 13.2%? Doesn't drink like that at all.
This is absolutely unbelievably nice.

On tap at Bottle Logic.
Pours black with creamy mocha head.
Aroma is lovely blend of coffee, roasted malts, bourbon, charred oak and alcohol.
Taste follows the smell with some vanilla-esque flavor mingled in there.
Creamy, heavy mouthfeel that coats the tongue.
Fantastic. Hope this gets bottled.

Had this in a flight and was able to side by side with Darkstar November. The coffee is obviously the main difference and does take the base beer up a notch for me. Love that extra flavor. It compliments very nicely and doesn't take away from anything that made DSN great.
