Redeye November features an exclusive blend of Brazil Oberon and Sumatran beans from our friends at Mostra Coffee. Flavors of dark fruit, Baker's chocolate and caramelized sugar meld with the spicy rye malt and bittersweet molasses of Darkstar November, our original barrel-aged beer. Yet another piece to the grand puzzle...

2018 release. pitch black pour. smells great with lots of coffee. Very viscous mouthfeel and very smooth. Barrel flavor is nice. The coffee tastes exceptional along with hints of dark chocolate.

550ml bottle poured into a snifter
2017 Vintage
A- pours jet black in color with a one-finger foamy khaki head that reduces to a ring
S- bold espresso aromas with a Sumatran influence, along with dark chocolate, mocha cream, figs, raisins, molasses, char, oaky bourbon barrel, peppery rye
T- sweet mocha cream up front gives way to bold notes of espresso that gives an herbal and earthy note. MId-palate brings wet oak, barrel juice, peppery rye, caramel, bitter dark chocolate, charred malt. The finish gives more barrel, peppery rye and espresso. Lingers of bourbon and espresso
M- medium body with moderate carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel that continues into a warming finish

This is just out of the top 250. I can see it being high enough to make it. A very coffee forward stout with plenty of rye and molasses with an assertive bourbon barrel presence. I feel like there are maple notes there as well, even if it’s not on the label. The feel is amazing-just at the right spot in terms of thickness, syrupyness, oiliness, and booziness. I love this beer and will try it again.
