On draft at Bottle Logic, here for RFI Bottle pickups.
When poured from the tap handle, this thing was viscous, vicious, and black. The tan head quickly settled and tucked itself away into the beer. Thin retention clung desperately to the glass, but didn't have the grip to stick around.
The nose on this was all cinnamon roll, right away. Tons of cinnamon bursts out the gate, swirling in harmony with that potent Madagascar vanilla. I couldn't believe how closely they nailed this aroma profile. Keep in mind, this beer is nearly 14% ABV, and even in the finish I was just getting a sharp spiciness from the Cassia and notes of black licorice to round it out. I love beers where I can easily pick out every ingredient mentioned. It shows a brewery's true expertise in their craft.
It hit my lips, and the cinnamon hit first right away. It was followed closely this time with that anise that the nose finished on. With the quick 1-2 jab from those two out of the way, the dust settled and I was left with all that vanilla perfection, and was finally hit with that boozy 14% presence. That oaky bourbon finish is literally the only reminder that you weren't at a new hipster blendery that was serving up organic cinnamon roll smoothies.
The body was great throughout. Thick and viscous as foreshadowed from the pour. Low carb and incredibly smooth, with a nice subtle burn and a sticky (bun) finish.

look: 4.25 | smell: 4 | taste: 4 | feel: 4 | overall: 4
Look: Thick pour. Good carbonation with a milk chocolate color.
Smell: Tons of cinnamon on the nose. It almost smells like it's going to be too much cinnamon, but I'll see how the vanilla balances it out. It honestly smells like the first time I experimented by putting cinnamon sticks in to a Bourbon County '17.
Taste: I get no vanilla at all; the cinnamon just completely overpowers everything. The beer needs better balance, for sure.
Mouthfeel: Not as thick as I expected. It doesn't coat the mouth like a good, thick BA stout does. The cinnamon lingers for far too long at the end.
Overall, disappointed in the beer. However, it has potential. I think if you let it sit for a year or two and let the cinnamon mellow, it'll be much better. I have one more of these, so I may do just that.

Let me start the review by saying I am a sucker for cinnamon. This beer did not disappoint in that department. Pours black as night with a bit of head. Cinnamon presence throughout. Strong on the nose, great on the palate, and lingering in the aftertaste. So yeah, high ratings, but I like that cinnamon.

L: pours light black, see through the pour. Black in he glass with a vey small and fast fading brown head
S: sweet cinnamon, seriously a cinnamon roll with vanilla icing aroma. Just missing the bourbon..
T: exactly like the nose...vanilla icing on a cinnamon roll. Very good, I just wish there was more barrel.
F: medium thickness, very smooth

Good lord. All the people saying this is like a Cinnabon dipped in bourbon ain't lying!
Appearance is coffee black with a thin, fizzy mocha film that dies to a fine chain.
Smell is dominated by cinnamon that nears Red Hots, to its detriment, but there is a touch of vanilla, gooey dough, dark chocolate syrup, red licorice and spicy bourbon in the background.
Taste is where it's fucking nailing the Cinnabon effect! Jesus H Christ...I'm getting it all! Gooey, dripping and smooth cinnamon-sugar that completely redeems the unwieldy nose is joined by creamy vanilla frosting and doughy, unctuous malt. All of this is slowly enveloped by smooth chocolate and a substantial, warming, and somewhat numbing bourbon presence.
The body is smooth and round, of medium heft, with a thin but crisp soft fizz, finishing semi-dry.

This is literally a liquid cinnamon roll. Nose is all in your face cinnamon in a good way and vanilla icing sweetness buried into it. Barrel is subtle and not quite as fully balanced as FO but I can just smell this all day and sip it slowly. Great solid beer again from bottle logic.
