L: Pours a dark red in color. Looks like a light brandy of some sort when it settles. The viscosity is evident on the pour. No head formation and no lacing.
S: Huge notes of strawberry and vanilla. The milk sugar addition is also detectible on the nose. Minimal bourbon presence.
T: Strawberry is the diva of the show and rides the entirety of the flavor train. Vanilla is present as well but mostly in the aftertaste. Bourbon is pronounced on the finish, providing some warmth and oak character. Doesn't drink boozy by any means, and is rather enjoyable.
F: Medium in body but heavier in weight. Carbonation is low to moderate. Smooth and rich in feel.
O: Taking into account what it is, I am rather enjoying it. It's a novelty brew at its best, and is something that I feel BL is good at achieving. I am very grateful to have tried this and the fam is enjoying it as well. Cheers!

I find this beer to be hells to the ya. Neoplatonism like it’s the 4th grade and you got an ice cream sandwich for knowing 2 plus 2. A lil light on the feel, but hella poppin like whoa.

Got in a trade with RaulMondesi. 500 ml bottle into snifter, 2018 vintage bottling. Pours moderately hazy deep ruby red color with a small fairly dense cream colored head with good retention, that reduces to a thin spotty lace cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of huge milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, cream, marshmallow, strawberry, bourbon, coconut, toasted oak, and brown bread; with light notes of molasses, raisin, cherry, leather, tobacco, herbal, and yeast/oak/toasted earthiness. Some increasing booze in the aromas as it warms, but not overwhelming. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/bready malt, vanilla, lactose, strawberry, bourbon barrel, and light fruity yeast/earthy hop notes; with big strength. Taste of huge milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, cream, marshmallow, strawberry, bourbon, coconut, toasted oak, and brown bread; with light notes of molasses, raisin, cherry, leather, tobacco, herbal, and yeast/oak/toasted earthiness. Light herbal/roast bitterness and bourbon/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, cream, marshmallow, strawberry, bourbon, coconut, toasted oak, brown bread, light molasses/dark fruit, herbal, and yeast/oak/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt, vanilla, lactose, strawberry, bourbon barrel, and light fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness and bourbon/oak spiciness balance; with no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness and bourbon/oak spiciness. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready, and lightly slick/sticky/tannic mouthfeel that is great. Mildly increasing warmth of 12.9%, with minimal barrel booziness lingering after the finish. Overall this is an awesome barrel aged flavored strong ale. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt, vanilla, lactose, strawberry, bourbon barrel, and light fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the huge ABV; with the mildly bitter/tannic/drying finish. Awesome balance of rich malts, strawberry, vanilla, lactose, and bourbon barrel integration; with solid earthy hop presence. Not overly sweet/heavy from lingering bitter/tannic dryness. A really enjoyable offering as expected. Very unique, but nails the expectations; while still being spot on for the base style.

I was a little disappointed in this beer. Forget the fact that it’s a $30/bottle. I was just psyched for a BL Neapolitan beer! I thought the alcohol was unhidden which was surprising. I also didn’t really get any chocolate which led me to wonder why they made this an Old Ale? Since chocolate is basically built into a stout. Anyway.. I would say if you see it on tap try it for yourself, but I would pass on a bottle if given another opportunity

Pours a slightly clouded garnet. Very good, but overly sweet. Really hit the mark for the Neapolitan milkshake that they were going for. Like a malted vanilla shake with marichino cherry syrup.

Never even targeted this BL Stasis Strong Ale, but after trying SoA, I’m excited about this.

Dark, rust-hued crimson pour. White head of foam that bubbles away quickly , leaving just a strip of bubbles and hardly any lace at this temp.

Three main aroma components I’m getting are strawberry, bourbon, and caramel flavors. Oak barrel nose follows up and make a nice bold profile.

Again, strawberry and booze hit first. Getting much more vanilla in the flavors than on the nose, and the Neapolitan ice cream profile really begins to come together. Rich, warm caramel follows up and finishes with a comfortable warm booze.

A subtle, medium carb with a smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Subtle warmth and a very creamy finish. Lactose becomes very familiar in the feel of this beer.
