NASA’s lucky peanuts date back to the first missions sent to the moon. Six Ranger missions ended in failure, but on the seventh, roasted peanuts were passed out in the control room. The success of Ranger 7, which in July 1964 became the first U.S. space probe to successfully transmit close images of the moon's surface, made the peanuts into a tradition celebrated in Bastion of Reason!
Imperial Stout aged in Buffalo Trace and Heaven Hill barrels, then finished on roasted peanuts with Ghanaian and Ecuadorian cacao nibs.

Black, no head.
Burlap sack of peanuts, dead on.
Peanuts, roasted malt -- like a butter cup that way since there's not really any char/smoke flavor. Not sweet, no bitterness from chocolate.
Feels right.

Poured from a 22oz bomber into a bottle logic taster. Thank you Daniel for this beer.
Pours a deep black inky body with specs of floaters I can assume are peanuts, small brown head that reduces to leave no lacing or retention.
Aromas of peanut butter and bourbon, vanilla, Reese’s peanut butter cups, milk chocolate, more bourbon. Really inviting.
On the tongue I get a ton of peanut butter milk chocolate notes, mixed with a nice bourbon vanilla flavor. Follow through is more peanut flavor, boozy bourbon and rich milk chocolate. Mouthfeel is rich and thick with medium low carbonation.
I really enjoyed this PB stout - one of the best I’ve had. Not artificial tasting at all, and lots of bourbon without being overpowering.

500 mL bottle poured into snifter. 2019 vintage.
Near black with virtually no head.
Nose: Absolutely loaded with peanuts with undertones of vanilla, milk chocolate, and bourbon.
Taste: Extremely peanut-forward like the nose. Bourbon is more pronounced than the nose. Finishes sweet although not overly so.
Feel: Full-bodied, medium carbonation. A bit oily.

Pretty stoked to try a bottle of this. Besides the awesome color way and design, the adjuncts in this stout sound amazing. I have not let it sit out all that much at room temp, but hopefully I'll have enough patience to let it properly warm. Anyways, let's see how it is!
L: Pours thick and oil like with a deep brown, near black appearance. No head on the pour but tiny little bubbles continually rise up to the top of the liquid establishing a cola-colored ring around the perimeter. Looks thick and full, and I am ready.
S: Smells so dang good. The peanut aroma is abundant, as is the cacao/chocolate. Very subtle tinge of bourbon detectible as well, slightly singing my nostrils if I get a big enough whiff. Smells great.
T: Also pretty darn delicious. Loads of roasted peanut flavor. It is natural, nutty and for lack of better terms, roasty. Flavors of cacao also present, mostly on the finish, with the perfect mesh of raw and sweet cacao flavors. The finish is nutty and roasty with flavors of malts and peanut. Bourbon really stands out on this one, letting you know this is a BA offering and cuts down the sweetness of the beer, which I think is a good thing. Really tasty overall.
F: Thick, heavy, and full. On the lower end in terms of carbonation, but that is what gives it the viscosity. Amazing feel with apparent booze presence.
O: A very enjoyable beer by Bottle Logic, and one that I am glad to try. I would not mind trying this again if I come across it. I am very glad to try and would drink again. Cheers!

The carbonation is a bit on the low end, but oh boy is the aroma peanutty and it just tastes like bourbon barrel aged liquid peanut butter cups. So fantastic!
