Notes: Our Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial S'Mores Stout is a blend of Darkstar November and a viscous Rye Double Mash base that was brewed and finished with hundreds of pounds of marshmallows, graham crackers, and cacao nibs.

I have stepped away from the reviews for a minute. I am back to reviewing again. I am beginning 2023 with several things to accomplish. I let this beer sit out for a bit to warm up to 58 degrees. The viscous pour produced a dark brown one and half fingers. The retention is above average, considering this is clocking in at 13.5 percent. The dark brown liquid charts around SRM 36, dark brown with a touch of ruby hues. Overall the appearance of the beer is above average for this style.
The aromas wafted out of the bottle as soon as I popped the top. Rich chocolate, sugary marshmallows, espresso, deep bourbon notes, figs, raisins, caramel, toffee, bready graham crackers, a hint of oranges, and a touch of floral esters. The smores part of the beer is expressive and hard to nose out the other yummy smells.
The smores flavors intertwine with the bourbon barrel perfectly. I could not detect the subtle campfire note teasing my pallet. Memories flood back to camping in July, drinking beer, and eating smores. The sticky marshmallows with caramel, toffee, oranges, dark chocolate, raisins, oak, espresso, graham crackers, bourbon, vanilla, and a slight char.
The mouthfeel is thick and chewy with a long and delightful finish.
Oh my god! This beer is the perfect winter beer for a long hard day. It is thick, chewy, and bursting with flavor. Absolutely a fantastic beer; this brightens my long day.

Note: my bottle says 13.5%.

Body pours black with a dark brown head. Not much lacing.

The aroma is a delicious mix of rye, marshmallows, Graham crackers and cacao. The rye stands above the others, but isn't hot.

Taste follows nose with the adjuncts moving forward to stand with the rye. The body still is boozy but the rye doesn't quash the others.

Mouthfeel is luxurious and low carbonation doesn't detract here. Avoid the impulse to gulp this monster. Savor and enjoy.

I definitely would not have purchased the stout based on the ingredients, and that would have been my mistake. A hugely delicious, heavy hitting yet expertly masked just enough rye dessert stout.

Yet another winner from Bottle Logic. Pours thick and dark with minimal head and lacing. Strong notes of chocolate and vanilla with milder presence of graham and oaky bourbon barrel on the nose. Taste is more of the same flavors, with the barrel asserting itself subtly on the back end. A slightly oily feel, and the alcohol is disguised extremely well. Love it.

Look - Black and thick but not much of a head. Good lacing lacking a lot of rimming.
Smell - barrel chocolate graham cracker and sweet (probably the marshmallow)
Taste - straight s'mores and barrel. The blend of all the flavors are really nice
Feel - thick creamy very light
Overall - this is a really great smores style ba stout

4oz pour at Chuck's Hop Shop in Central District. Served in a cute little sample glass, kind of wine glass globe shaped with no stem.

Pours black, thick, with no head. Smell is STRONG -- boozy, chocolate, dark roast, some anise, something almost rye-spicy. Strong vanilla.

Taste is boozy and sweet, cotton candy and toffee or caramel, vanilla (marshmallow), sweetened coffee, some anise again.

Mouthfeel is thick, not so sticky as I would expect. Overall, very good.

Marshmallows make this beer so incredible, the sweetness is not overwhelming and really complimenting of the bourbon barrels, didnt get much of the graham crackers but the marshmallow was king and really made the smell and taste of this beer super memorable. highly reccomend

Silky smooth body. Flavor is chocolate, thick marshmallow, and tons of graham cracker. Didn’t know this was rye barrel aged at first and the spice caught me off guard! Super good.

Sweet and roasty milk chocolate malty, hint of graham cracker, and vanilla-marshmallow nose on this one! Taste follows with a decadent but balanced, creamy-sweet marshmallow chocolate swallow...some dark chocolate bitterness and a faint hint of bourbon barrel show up on the backend. Holds on to and hides the big ABV really well! This is a fantastic stout!

Pouring viscously like used motor oil and filling to a glossy obsidian black in the glass, its short tan head settles to a fine chain.

Smell is intense of fresh out the package marshmallow, big puffy marshmallows and even mini Swiss Miss packet mallows. This is backed by a melted milk chocolate aroma. Right away it's hitting the right notes to begin to form the s'mores trifecta, but in aroma it's more hot cocoa with a dash of deep syrupy whiskey.

The thiccc gooey body up front delivers chocolate dipped graham before its fine tingly carbonation lifts all the gooey vanilla marshmallow. And there it is--achievement unlocked: s'mores. Still, this comes with an adult spike of prickly bourbon in the semi-sticky finish, which is warming on the numbing exhale.

Delectably velvety thick, the carbonation expands slightly on the palate. As it warms, it develops an almost amaretto essence within the bourbon, as well as a nice added char, giving a hint of campfire to fit right along with the s'mores.
