Notes: This collaboration with Horus Aged Ales was a simple question of weight ratios – it’s laden with hundreds of pounds of fresh & toasted coconut, then tempered with roasted hazelnuts. Bourbon barrel aged.

Used motor oil black and burnt brown edges fill from a fairly viscous pour, while the mouthfeel is more moderate, yet still slick. A fizzy dark mocha head dies off quickly to a silky surface.

Substantial barrel presence of char, and caramelized brown sugar make up the introduction and the primary theme of what you might have expected to be more pastry forward. Sure, there's an accent of toasted chocolate wafer and a hint of nutty maple candy, but the barrel shines here, gladly over the added components, maybe a little more than some would prefer. Hazelnut comes forward on second visit, but closer to a coffee mocha flavor in and of itself. The coconut adds some body and richness, but not a ton of flavor. A firm, thickening yet tingly carbonation adds a bit of heat on the semi-sticky finish, where the coconut ribboning around barrel vanillin delicately surfaces.

It's quite delicious, but not the dripping in decadence BA Adjunct Trail dethroner some may have been hoping for.

Poured highly viscous and pitch black with a beige head. Aromas super sweet. Starts out with thick chocolate, hazelnuts, and maple. Also a little alcohol at the nose. There's really not much coconut until it warms up.

The taste is very similar. Very sweet with ton of chocolate, some hazelnuts and a touch of maple. Taste like breakfast pancakes with nuts. Slowly as it warmed up, there is definitely hints of coconut which I appreciate. No barrel presence, which I have found in most Bottle Logic stouts, but it probably does add a layer of depth.

The mouth is very thick and sticky from the sugars. Some warmth from the alcohol.

Overall its a great beer but if it was labeled without coconut, I probably wouldn't have known when drinking this. Still taste some adjuncts such as maple even though its not added.

Very dark appearance with slight tan head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is a pleasant blend of coconut hazelnut and bourbon. Taste is very smooth bourbon hazelnut and coconut.
