Terrific local beer. Very clean-almost a reference beer.

Pours a clear golden yellow with a thick white head.

Taste the sweet malts up front with hay mixed in and pale hops. Reminds me more of a euro pilsner. Refreshing.

I was beginning to think that brewers had forgotten about guys that just love beer. They got all fancy-schmancy, hoppy-jalopy. This is BEER. Its truest form. It's purest state. No citrus. No herbs. Just Clean, Crisp, BEER.
Thank you!

a lager that i think is better than its ratings, and i have liked all of the lager types i have had from these guys so far, all so clean. this is a tidy little beer, with a little more body and grain flavor than i was expecting from a simple pale lager beer, more of a european sort of pils malt base to it that really comes through, and while there isnt a whole lot of yeast flavor here, the beer is more than one dimensional somehow, with a little bit of off dry grain linger, and some slightly floral hops at the end, its as robust as it can be without drinkability being sacrificed in the least. it has a crisp taste, a little bit more body than many of its peers, and an appreciable freshness about it in my experience. i like the bittering hops, i like the light citrus note i get too, and i like it having a perceptible mineral profile. overall one of the less ambitious beers i have had from these guys, no crazy recipe or ingredients here, but a well executed every day drinker that works well for the oncoming warmer weather. one of my favorite pale lagers in town right now, ill drink my share this summer to be sure. i love what woodland empire is doing!

edit: this can be hit or miss, especially on tap around town, sometimes thin and weak and samey, sometimes crisp and bright and awesome, depends on where and when you catch it i guess, but not always a winner, which is a shame...

Finally another great tasty local lager. Throwback bottles and labels are a nice touch also. WE needs to put this in cans and get it in Winco. Oh yeah, they did that....

Hazy yellow like home made lemonade. Huge white head that goes in about five minutes and leaves nice lacing.
Smell is mild grainy malts. Maybe a whiff of floral hops.
Taste is well balanced between malts, flaked maize, and hops.
Mouthfeel is close to medium with plenty of carbonation. Finish is clean crisp and refreshing.
Overall this is what American Lagers should taste like and I think they used to be closer.
When hot weather finally shows up I would love have a keg of this beer.
My can lists abv at 4.5% not 4.2%.

On draft a couple of times at the brewery... Tonight enjoyed from a tulip... Slightly hazed yellow beer with an okay white head. Nose and flavor is grainy pale malt balanced just barely by some grassy/light floral hops... Pretty good for what it is. It will be pretty fantastic when it hits 100+ outside.

All 3.75's.... And this is a review based on the merits of the beer, I don't give a shit if you don't like Pale Lagers.
