Pours a mildly clear brownish color with a thin foamy head. Retention is very mild and lacing is decent to good. A lot of smokey coffee aroma. Same on the taste. Very smokey. Light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

12oz can with no canned on or best by date. Bought at the brewery 7-26-19, opened 8-10-19.
Dark brown/mahogany color with good clarity when held up to the light. 1/2" off white head with good retention at 1/4". Some early lacing.
Big earthy, chocolatey, coffee, nutty, rich malt nose. Rubber. Slight hint of hops buried underneath but it's there. Nice nose.
Cocoa powder, coffee, chalky earth. Bigger hop presence in the flavor with a touch of weedy/citrus in the end.
A little less than medium body, low to medium carbonation (could use a touch more of both). Dry finish makes this one even more enjoyable.
My favorite from this brewery so far.

Had this on 2019-03-01 in Grapevine, TX from a 12oz can
A - Clear ruby-brown with a 2-finger tan head and good lace
S - Toasted bread, mocha coffee. Nice.
T - We’ll toasted bread with some char, coffee and some chocolate. Finish with a roasty bitterness.
M - Light-Medium body and carbonation. Finishes dry.
O - An Americanized brown ale as described. Worth a try.

Looks like coffee, smells like sweetened ice coffee. A rich flavor pallette with coffee, toffee, hops and toasted malt. Tastes a lot like a black lager. Heavier than most English brown ales I've had. Not my favorite style, but has flavor to spare.

Solid beer. Nothing blew me away, but it is a straight forward, toasty, nutty brown ale that is easy to drink. It's worth a try if you're ever near Austin.
