Notes: Forever Unloved Sandy was brewed as a fundraiser for Hurricane Sandy Relief efforts. So far, we’ve donated $75,000 to a variety of local organizations throughout the state to help with the recovery. Think of Sandy as wheat pale ale. It’s hopped with experimental hop ADHA 483, donated by the American Dwarf Hop Association, which has never been used in a beer before this one. Expect a beautiful nose of mangoes, peaches and guavas that will accentuate the beer’s soft mouthfeel and contribute to a truly one-of-a-kind ale.

Typical cloudy orange-yellow pour found in a wheat ale, lots of fluffy white head leaving behind patchy lacing. Smells of wheat, very bready, slight citrusy tartness usually found in saisons, lots of hops.
The flavor is aggressively hopped for the style, a strong grapefruit/orange blend, lots of wheat, cheesy farmhouse yeast, a lingering bitterness of wet grass.
Light body, high carbonation, crisp and refreshing.

A solid beer for the season. The funky cheesy yeast is a little off putting the way it blends with the citrus, but its unique enough to not be questioned.

I just love this beer. Goes down easy, i.e. "Sessionable" nice interesting hop flavor, without being an over the top bitter hop monster. It breaks my heart to know that it's retired. Maybe Flying Fish will make a similar beer under a different name? Perfect balance and mouth-feel make it great from the first cold sip all the way down to the final finish.
