Notes / Commercial Description:
The BQE is our Brooklyn Queens Espresso imperial stout. Cocoa nibs from the Brooklyn based Mast Brothers and Coffee from Queens based Native Coffee Roasters were added to the boil making for a super complex tasty brew.

My first review!

Appearance : Dark bar, dark beer. Not much to see, although it looks a little browner and not as much black for a ris. No head

Smell: Burnt coffee, in a good way. Nice roastiness that you want in a stout. Burnt caramel and dark chocolate.

Taste: Lots of coffee. Dark fruits and a dose of pepper. Coffee lingers with you throughout the sip and stays long after the swallow. Full roasty flavors. Very good.

Mouthfeel: Way thicker than it looks. I don't want a ris that is too thin and this beer is right on the money! Full, thick and sticky mouthfeel...Excellent!

Overall:"I'll take a growler to go please!"

On tap at Finback Taproom's opening day.

A - pours a syrupy, deep brown with a quarter inch Brown head

S - coffee malt goodness

T - coffee, chocolate, maple syrup, oats.

M - syrupy yet well carbonated

O - better than Stone EIRS but not better than BCBCS. PHENOMENAL brew.
