Dated 4/27/18 on the bottom of the can, just under 3 weeks old.

Pours a nearly opaque lighter orange in the glass with almost no head, maybe a third of a finger that dissipated quickly. Nose starts off with a strong over-ripened mango that steals the show and follows with yellow grapefruit pith, pine bark, candied lemon, lime peel, a hint of floral and a mulberry-esque malt. Everything but the mango, grapefruit and pine, I had to really pull out of the aroma. It's there but the mango overrides it. Taste also puts the mango in charge but brings in much more hefty than expected mulberry-esque woody malt. The rest just kind of, just fades away. Medium-light body, it's a little bit underwhelming for a 6.2% ABV, but no alcohol notes. Medium sweetness and low biterness/dryness in this one. This was a weird one for me, it's almost as if it's several months old, but it's not. It's only 3 weeks in the can but I can tell this fruited IPA faded a lot faster than I expected. If I were able to get my hands on one of these the week it was brewed, I may have come to a different conclusion.

Tall can purchased at the brewery a few days ago. 9/19/2016 on the bottom of the can

Pours heavily clouded dull looking shade of lighter orange....Large oatmeal cap, lasts and lasts awhile longer then goes to a fine bubble film, collar and leaving moderate low sheeting and bits of lacing.

Super fresh and fruity nose with pinapple, mango and assorted tropicla fruits...fragrant and enjoyable....world class sniff

More of the same on the palate with fropical fruity hop notes allover it...citra/cat piss note encountered on the back. end.

Super yummy, high quality IPA in a can, made in Queens, NY....life is good, go get some..

16 oz. can.

Folks around me go a bit nuts when Finback's stuff hits the area and this is my first shot with them (took a beer hiatus over the past few months). This had the pineapple juice/unfiltered look I love in IPA's. Really wanted the nose to match the look but it wasn't quite there. Not bad, just didn't deliver what the look promised. Body is a bit thin and it goes down way too easy for 6.2%. I like the bitterness a lot but can see where some sweetness might have helped a bit but this is my type of IPA, thin body not withstanding. Picked up some mango on the finish but not overwhelming (this isn't some Ballast Point/fruit flavored/Even Keel monstrosity). A good beer that borders around excellent. Price point really kills the chance I'd add this to the rotation but glad I picked one up.

16oz. can into a Surly teku.

There's a relatively new style of IPA on the block deemed the "New England" IPA. Its supposed to lean towards the malty side, with an unfiltered look and a huge tropical fruit bouquet. In terms of the look of the style, Visible Spectrum is the perfect example. Almost like a mango, papaya and citrus fruit smoothie. Completely opaque. The nose doesn't quite live up to the look. Some aromas of citrus and pineapple sweetness but pretty muted overall. Beer opens citrus, pineapple and papaya. Some pine and grass hop bitterness in the middle lends some balance with a juicy, fruit forward finish and aftertaste with a twinge of bark and sap bitterness. Pretty impressive. Juicy on the palate and quenching going down. Leaves you wanting more.

That there's this much flavor in this offering is pretty outstanding given that this is a single IPA. The look is fantastic and the flavor doesn't let you down. Can't ask for much more.

Canned 5/31/2016. Typical New England hop juice appearance. An opaque pale yellow color with lots of particulates floating around, topped with a huge white head. The aroma doesn't punch you the way I was hoping but it hits all the right notes in one way or another. Sweet citrus zest, tangerine, bitter pine, grapefruit pith, tropical lime, underripe mango, bit of pineapple, and lots of doughy yeast. Very creamy, juicy mouth feel, nice amount of carbonation, with a drying pine needle bitterness on the back end. Exceptionally balanced. The taste is more tropical citrus, melon, mango, sweet crackery malt, yeast, grapefruit rind and pine contribute to the bitterness. The bitterness is definitely there but I found it to be a vital aspect of this beer.
