Traded for this a while ago, finally getting around to it this week along with all of the other Finback beers in my basement stash. Love the label though I have no idea what the "X" or "BGHX" is in reference to. Regardless, this was a light beer (in flavor) that had plenty going for it, though I didn't quite see why it was rated so highly on here!
This had a good pour to it as the liquid was a chalky gold with plenty of white, fluffy head to top it off. Loads of lacing remained on the side of my pint glass as I worked my way through this, as one well-defined ring slid down to the next, and so on. Light wood, peach, and white grape were in the nose as the taste was a cross between champagne and a white wine spritzer. Some apricot and white cheese was in the mix too as the carbonation was light and this was juicy to the taste but a bit dry in the aftertaste.
Not a lot of booze in this as this nearly felt like an American Pale Ale. While not Finback's best, I enjoyed this as a break from their more heavy and dank offerings. A bit too sticky on my teeth, this could have left a better impression on me once I finished it off but it was just a bit different and mysterious, just like the label...

Poured on tap into a snifter glass at Churchkey.
Opaque mix of lemon and peach yellow colors in the body. Faint off white almost khaki colored like collar.
Fruit hop quality somewhat floral and sweet orange and tropical on the nose . Good soft perfume character mixing in on the aroma.
Clean and fruity palate but with a slight jarring mouthfeel. Seltzery wet body, with a bit of carbonation that distracts. Mineral orange juice and slight steely grapefruit quality on the palate. Gasous finish and bit also with a lighter body.
Seems to flirt with hop forward pale Ale character. Mouthfeel sort of takes away much of the brews good quality.

16 oz. can dated 8/16/17
Pours cloudy hazy gold with a creamy white foam head. Smells and tastes like apricot, melon, white grapefruit, orange citrus, pineapple, honey crackery caramelized malt, with dank floral earthy herbal grassy pine. Feels medium bodied, creamy with moderate carbonation. Overall a nice juicy IPA.
