Pours a cloudy orange / straw color, minimal head. Nice mango aroma mixed in with citrusy hops. Delicious mango flavor, big vanilla creamy flavor, hops are scratchy on the back of my throat. Smooth and sweet, this is one of my favorite beers, and I really don’t care for lactose ipa’s. Drove into Queens from NJ on a Friday at 4pm for this beer, 5 hours in the car round trip, worth it...

6/29/20 update - just finished my last of 16 that I bought on 5/15. Flavor def fades, need to drink in 6 weeks. Still love it, can’t wait to buy a case next summer. Still my favorite ipa.

Smells great. Taste isn't bad at first, but then has a really strong coconut after taste. It's a little off putting.

Been ages since I reviewed anything from Finback on here, and this was one of the few brews from them that I traded for as opposed to taking the trek to go get it directly from the brewery. Not often that I have a beer that's fitting for it's moniker but that was the case with this one as it was fat in flavor and full of mango - if you're looking for either of those, then you've certainly found a winner with this one!

This had a typical, Finback appearance to it as the beer was a dank melon with some light seeping in around the edges. Not a lot of head topped it off and the lacing wasn't much of anywhere to be seen either throughout my session. Lots of mango, sweet cream, and coconut juice in the nose as the taste was full of all of those. Not quite a "dessert beer" but my, this was so sweet and smooth on the palate that I had to pace myself throughout my time with this. A bit of tangerine, grass, deep and dank hops, and nectar came through as this warmed up with the beer getting more and more complex near the bottom. Just enough carbonation kept this light while the sugar an d lactose were a bit short of overwhelming the palate...

The amount of booze was right here as this reminded me of my favorite offerings from Greenpoint and Tired Hands. This might have seen one-dimensional from the get-go but it was nicely done and easily enjoyable. Such a shame that Finback isn't closer to the subway in New York!

Not what I was expecting for taste at all. Extremely disappointing and had high hopes based on the ratings. A no go for me.

Canned 13 July, purchased at Gold's in Middletown.

A murky light yellow with a thin but large white head that falls off rapidly leaving little lacing, this looks rather ugly. The nose lives up to the description. Mango sticky rice with coconut milk and a touch of passionfruit, this smells excellent. The palate opens with minimal bitterness and plenty of pulp, grass and husk. Mango, coconut, honey, mild passionfruit are present. Thin but frothy, gritty in texture, this beer is mediumlight in body and highly carbonated. As the carbonation dissipates, it improves hugely. Mildly medicinal and bitter on the finish, rather unpleasantly so, this beer is ultimately disappointing as it doesn't live up to its magnificent nose.

Had on tap. Pours hazy pale yellow in color with minimal head. Taste is mango and vanilla. Light bodied, slightly bitter with moderate carbonation. Fruity and super tasty.

Again, not a fan of these so-called milkshake (smoothie) IPAs but we'll give everything a chance. 16oz. can into Night Shift stemware.

Pours even hazier than hazy... really like a mango smoothie. Aroma is right in line with the look. Heavy mango puree. Sweet, creamy with the slightest hint of coconut. Doesn't "smell like beer" but it's nice nonetheless. Beer opens sweet mango. Hints of coconut, cane sugar and lactose. Really creamy on the palate. This is thick and rich... almost like an imperial stout but mango instead of the coffee, chocolate and molasses. It's tasty. Feel is light to medium bodied with moderate to low carbonation. Creamy and filmy on the palate and soft, dry going down. Slightly lingering aftertaste that cleans up quickly. I want a touch more carbonation in this.

This beer is great but I almost feel a little dirty liking it. Definitely more fruit smoothie than IPA... that's for certain.
