Drank from a 1 pint (16 fl. oz.) can purchased at Fort Point Market, Boston, MA

Served in a tulip

Cloudy, almost glowing yellow ochre appearance. The opaque body was topped by a fluffy, bright white, near finger-tall crown that slowly fell to a thin, lasting film. Some streaky lacing stuck along the glass.

The aroma was outstanding. Tropical fruits came through big time. Loads of overripe mango and papaya. Big stone fruit presence as well. Peach and apricot notes were quite apparent. Moderate amount of dankness too. As the beer sat, citrus notes appeared. Orange flesh came and went in waves, competing for dominance with the tropical and stone fruit notes.

The flavor profile was nearly as stellar as the aroma. Super fruity and sweet yet well balanced. Again, tropical fruits dominated. Ripe mango, guava and papaya came to mind. Big peach and apricot presence as well. Pineapple was noticeable in the center. Some tangerine too. Moderately tart and tangy. I also picked up some orange flesh. Bit of citrus peel on the back end and the finish. Nice mix of subtle, resiny bitterness and lingering sweetness.

Terrific creamy, fluffy, fuller bodied mouthfeel. The liquid contained a medium bubbled, crisp and sprightly effervescence that gave the beer an amazing lightness on the palate.

Finback make some incredibly flavorful and well balanced IPAs, and Double Something Citra is a perfect example of this. Double Something Mosaic was one of the best hoppy beers I have tried in the past year, and this Citra rendition was definitely up there as well.

Pours light straw color and very BAzy, looks like grapefruit juice. Great big dank hop aroma, guava. Taste is dank, earthy, guava, melon. delicious. Carbonation is appropriate. Overall a fantastic DIPA. Glad I bought 2 4-packs.
