From 06/28/14 notes. Picked this up at the brewery 2 weeks ago. Poured from a 750ml bottle into my Duvel tulip.

a - Pours a somewhat hazy amber-orange color with one finger of fluffy bright white head and moderate to high carbonation evident. Spotty lacing left on the glass.

s - Smells of apples, citrus hops, floral hops, honey, fruity malts, perfume, sweet sugarcane, and Belgian yeast. Nice nose, sweet and fruity.

t - Tastes of apples, citrus hops, oranges, lemon peel, fruity malts, floral hops, Belgian yeast, wheat, grains, light funk, spices , earthy notes, and honeysuckle. Not as sweet as the nose but more citrus to it.

m - Medium body and moderate to high carbonation. Doesn't taste like it's 9.1% ABV at all.

o - Overall very good and a traditional tripel. Nice fruit in the nose and citrus in the taste. Doesn't taste super strong, worth checking out.

On-tap at Albion, New York, NY

A: The beer is slightly hazy yellow in color and has no visible carbonation. It poured with a short bright white head that died down, leaving just a collar of bubbles around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of apples and yeast are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell but seems a little bit yeastier.
M: It feels light-to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This tripel has more yeast in the smell and taste compared to other beers in the style and doesn’t seem to have any underlying candi sugars that are noticeable in the taste. It hides all traces of alcohol rather well.

750ml corked and caged bottle into a Westvleteren XII chalice. Shared with schen9303.

Pours a thin, foamy white head with little retention. Beer is a semi-clear orange bronze. Lacing is thin and spotty with little stick. Average.

Nose is floral, caramel, honey and citrus. Kind of awkward without the Belgian yeast or spice notes. Mellow too.

Opens citrus, peppercorn, coriander and flower petals. Caramel, brown sugar and some dark fruit in the middle with a sharp booziness in the back. Very sweet. Finishes spicy, dry and sweet with just a touch of waxy bitterness. Sweet caramel and molasses aftertaste. Pretty standard.

Light to medium bodied with ample carbonation. Prickly and foamy in the mouth and goes down aggressive and dry. Finishes the same with a sticky, filmy finish that clings to the palate. Solid.

Decent for an American tripel but again, nothing about this beer stands out. Nice balance though.
