I was in the area and had heard great things about Transmitter and their beer. I think it likely that this is the new location, as they are in Building 77 of the Brooklyn Navy yards and do not appear to be in the tiny, cramped quarters discussed below. It actually has a great location and can easily be reached from Manhattan on the Astoria ferry from Wall St or 34th St. Because of the COVID-19 lockdown, they are open for carry away bottle and can sales, but do not serve or allow consumption on the premises yet. I made sure to do my part with a solid purchase. The staff were very chatty and affable. I cannot wait to return and review them once they are fully open for business again. Looked like a fun spot -- will be back.

Awesome little (ok, its tiny) place, just over the bridge from Brooklyn...guy behind the samples counter tells me they are soon to have a new and larger brewery/tasting room..they do mostly Saisons, Bier De Garde and sour kinda stuff here, some with brett and some with assorted other funky/wild yeasties, and it is mighty tasty....nano brew all the way currently, with several cans and bottles available for on sight or to go...no food (bring it in) no draft available, you will have to slack that thirst with the quality caged and corked bottles and/or the tall cans....high quality, lots of character...well worth a visit

this place is so awesome, definitely one of our favorite stops around the city. it was a bit hard to find, no easy way to walk there from the subway, and a tough couple of streets to cross, they are tucked back in under a bridge, an odd but cool location, i couldnt believe how small it was when we walked in, a very humble operation to say the least, although i understand there is some talk of expansion in the future. we were greeted by a dude who must have been an owner/brewer, who from behind the small little bar right in the front where you walk in, tasted us through a couple of their offerings, sharing all kinds of details about the processes and yeasts they use, very cool! we then posted up at one of the couple of tables in here and enjoyed several of their beers, everything we had in here was solid. i liked the noble saison, the honey saison, and the passion fruit sour all a whole lot, but others including a buckwheat based biere de garde and a zinfandel grape wild beer were also very good. i loved how mellow it was here, how low key, how awesome and unpretentious, how generous they were with their liquid and their knowledge, i was a fan before we visited, but now i am a hardcore adorer. this place is worth the hassle of getting to, wherever you are. if they arent on your radar yet in belgian, saison, and wild styles, they certainly should be!
