Beautiful amber pour with thick foamy head. Head was dense and hung around the glass. Lace was beautiful and sticky. Smelly of sweet honey and malts. Smooth crisp taste, with sharp after taste....almost as if beer wasn't cold enough. Not a bad beer....i would definitely drink again....but much colder on hot summer day!

Heritage Brewing Co. "American Expedition Honey Ginger Wheat Ale"
12 fl. oz. can without production coding or freshness dating
$1.67 @ Kroger, Virginia Beach, VA
Notes via stream of consciousness: Pours a slightly hazy yellow-gold body beneath a two-finger thick head of pillowy bright white that holds quite well. I'll now have to wait for it to dwindle before I can taste it. The aroma displays the ginger over a sweetish malt base. ... ... still waiting for the head to settle... ... looks like there will be some very nice streaks of lacing left behind. OK, the flavor is sharper than I thought it would be, which is good as I worried that it'd be sticky, and the wheaty malt remains. The ginger is there as well, but for some reason it doesn't come across as clearly as it did in the aroma, it's more limited. I also get some lemon which might be from hops, who knows? It's light-medium in body and crisp; and it finishes dry with a little bit of dull spiciness as some light residual malt erodes. A light touch of herbs rises as well. So, let's see. I don't get the honey, but I don't really care about that except that it's on the label and maybe you should be able to find it. And the ginger is there but it's not great. Again, I don't really care, there's enough and it helps to balance it as it's got just a minimal bitterness. The wheaty malt is present from start to finish and seems to be the bulk of the show, carrying and supporting the other ingredients. It's a little bit tart and refreshing, and really easy to drink ~ and that seems to be its greatest asset. I wouldn't look to this as a flavorful beer to sit down with, but as a beer to have while out with the guys, or during almost any spring or summer event.

On tap at Joes, Leesburg, VA. Pours hazy yellow. No head, but some lacing. Aroma is apricot and lemon. On the lighter side. Taste. Crisp, light. Citrus. berry late. Feel is medium fizzy, thickens in your mouth, but not pasty. A good spring beer.

Hazy wheat ale that is just a little bit cloudy and a little bit transparent. Has a color reminiscent of pineapple and apple juice.
Taste has just touch of ginger and sweet citrus.
Mouthfeel is quite excellent. A touch too much carbonation, but really very good

From the can, it pours a hazy yellowy amber with a vibrant head - as one would expect from a wheat beer. Taste is lightly wheat beer-ish and the body is light. Easy to drink summer beer!
