Grassy hops dominate over warming bittersweet malt; foamy head implodes in slow motion leaving gobs of foam. Pale yellow with darker orange glints in light, but very very light ale.

First taste is crisp and refreshing. Then the grainy bready malts make themselves known, finishing with the light grassy hops. Very nicely balanced, light, and wonderfully rich for its weight. Balances lots of flavor atop a fairly light alcohol content.

Don't know if they've changed anything since the 2009 reviews below, but the bottle clearly says Ale. Best by: 0612. Lot 057.

This brewery is creating great beers!

Pours clear light golden beer with decent white head, retention is ok,aroma of pale malts and grassy-floral hops. Taste of biscuit malts, citrus and honey, nice and delicate hop bitterness. Light body and soft carbonation. Excellent organic craft lager.

Poured from a 500mL bottle into a cervoise glass. Lot 045. Best before May 2012.

A: Incredibly pale yellow. Very clear, with lots of bubbles and a big, roiling head. It looks a lot like a pilsner. Delicate and charming.

S: Smells sorta like a pils too. Grassy, floral notes. Fresh, pleasant aromas.

T: One of the best lagers I've come across. Crisp without being too drying; carbonated without being fizzy. Loads of flavours -- yeasty, flowery, pungent, and powerful. This, more than anything else, makes for a good beer.

M: Great balance. Lively and quenching.

O: Fabulous, considering style. Absolutely recommended. I would drink again. I think I like this brewery.

Appearance: golden, good clarity, medium layer of pure white foam with good lasting power

Aroma: cotton candy, delicate malts, light scent of floral hops, pears

Flavor: subtle pale malts, just barely sweet, twinge of apple acidity, grain husks, herbal hop flavor, a bit musty in the background, finishes dry with a malt and husks aftertaste

Mouthfeel: medium-light body, fine but prickly carbonation, soft texture

Other Comments: I was surprised to learn that it was a lager because I thought it was just a clean, cool-fermented ale. Plus you don't see bottle-conditioned lagers very often. Nevertheless, it says "continental style lager" on the label. It's good, though. Would be a nice summer beer when served cold.

Pours a solid head of soapy foam, colour is a light, yellow straw gold. Shows pretty good retention, and good lacing.

Smell has a lot of fruity malt. Bready malts, bitternes is there, kind of woody. Slight grapefruit/orange note. Malt is a bit stale but otherwise good.

Taste has a semisweet citrus and fruity start. Berries and a subtle sweet malt. Quite smooth as more biscuit malt comes. Finish is quite dry, and clean. Nicely balanced and for what it is the flavour is pretty solid and tastes good.

Light body, with enough carbonation for a refreshing session ale. On the light side, a bit bland, but it drinks relatively smoothly, quite drinkable, finishes pretty well.

This is a nice beer for the style, light, pretty tasty, flavourful. Not amazing, but it gets the job done and is a nice session beer that I might pick up again if I see it. Well made stuff.

500ml bottle bought from GapWines, Belfast...

Poured a clear pale golden colour... White head poured quite thick and foamy and a steady stream of carbonation bubbles kept a decent covering throughout... some patchy lacing...

Aroma... Quite floral, summery fruits (apples, pears, light gooseberries), light soapiness, sea salt traces, pale malts, peppery hops, light grassy hops..

Taste - Again quite grassy and floral with some faint honey sweetness coming through, decent fruitiness (sour apples, pears, light limes), some earthiness, faint biscuity malts, salty notes, peppery and citrusy notes..

Feel - Pretty sharp and dry... light bodied... pretty refreshing and quaffable at only 4.5%...

Overall - A pretty tasty and flavourful lager - nothing mind blowing but pretty drinkable on a hot summer day... definitely worth a try...

330ml bottle.
L: Clear, rich gold colour with a creamy, two-finger head that reduces quickly to a patchy cap with lace.
S: Clean, grainy aroma.
T: Clean, smooth, grassy taste. Good, hoppy bitterness.
F: Medium body, coats the tongue nicely, zero carbonation, very dry finish.
O: Enjoyable, premium lager. Very smooth. Excellent, rich mouthfeel. The low carbonation would make this beer a good match for curry.

330ml bottle

A- Light golden colour. Two fingers white head with very big bubbles than soon recedes to a half finger, nicely persistent surface cover. Moderate lacing

S- Grainy and biscuity malts with some herbal noble hop notes in the back and a grapefruit undernote. Soft and fresh at the same time

T- Sweet biscuity malts with light honey and apple background notes, as well as the slightest hint of earthyness. A bit of a citric rind and some pleasantly refreshing floral notes from the hops. Finishes with a touch of clean, refreshing bitterness

M- Light in body and also quite light in carbonation, which just brings a bit of a soft texturing. Watery but nicely smooth and pleasantly light feel

O- Amazingly drinkable and nicely refreshingly. A quite interesting and satisfying lager

If a smell can be described as 'smooth' then this must be it. And there's a light whiff of grapefruit as well. Golden sparkle in the glass with some pretty decent desnish head retention.
Smooth to the taste, medium bodies with a degree of fattish malt on the tongue which gives it a rather mundane start until the hops creep up at the end on the end of the palate.
Gentle and nice but the malt dominance diminshes the potential into something more delicate and less challenging than it could be.
