Poured a 330ml bottle into a 350ml beer glass.

Poured a very nice dark copper, ruby colour with a lovely big fluffy white head. Left some good lacing.

Nose was complex - bready malts aromas, baking/cookie aromas, hops, fruit cake. Very nice.

Palate was complex - lots going on - lots of nice malt flavours - biscuity. Well-rounded. Good hop bitterness. Lovely.

Mouthfeel is great - lots of body and nice tight carbonation.

This is a really great beer - very pleasantly surprised. Amazing flavours and very well balanced.

Highly recommended.

A copper gold colour with steller lacing. Smell has citrus and berry hops on it, aromatic fruity hopiness, some caramel malt also. Taste is a nicely balanced malt start then a lot of the drying citrus grapefruit and lemon hops, dry florals as well. Mouthfeel is crisp, dry and pretty refreshing with moderate carbonation. Quite a tasty PA that is easy to drink but offers somewhat limited depth, works fairly well though and its enjoyable.

Serving type - Cask, Bottle, Keg

A - On all of the above you get a Golden amber colour, which has very little head in the bottle but more so in the Keg and even more so on the Cask.

S - Fruity and slightly sweet especially in Cask.

T - In the Cask especially you get a lot of honey coming through which makes it a very smooth and pleasant drink, I'd go as far as saying it's the best Cask pint I've ever had. In the bottle (chilled) and in the keg you get a lot of dried fruits and a slight grapefruit taste.

M- Cask is just so smooth and feels almost creamy which is a contrast to the keg and bottle because there is a very dry finish.

O - It's certainly a great peer in my opinion and especially in the Cask because it's completely different, however this by no means makes the bottle and keg inferior, just different.

330ml bottle

A- Light copper colour, two fingers, nicely persistent head that also leaves quite good amounts of lacing

S- Fresh but very delicate herbal/grassy aroma, with quite a nice amount of fruity notes showing up (mainly citric - expecially orange and grapefruit, but also peach)

T- Delicate body with a very light malt presence (flavour-wise), just a slight note of caramel. A refreshing grassy and flowery feel pervades the whole tasting experience, as the smell suggested. Fruity (peach, pear) and citric notes on the back of the tongue and in the aftertaste with a slightly juicy feel to them. Moderate and really delicate bitterness given the nice amount of hop flavours, but still enough to provide for a refreshing, thirst-quenching finish

M- Light in body, medium carbonation. Nice but still smooth crispness on the palate, more on the juicy side on the tongue

O- Highly enjoyable, refreshing ale. Delicate and perfectly balanced

Black Isle Organic Goldeneye Pale Ale, ABV: 5.6%.
330 ml bottle, 16.50 SEK at Systembolaget.

A: The liquid is hazy golden, with shades of orange - it's quite beautiful. On top there's a small white head which leaves a nice ring of lacing.

S: On the nose I get a sweet, pleasant, fruity and floral, hoppy aroma, with notes of peaches, pears, green grapes and marmalade balls, as well as hints of bread and honey.

T: A minor, but noticeable sweetness, with medium bitter flavours of fruity and floral hops, grains, bready malt, marmalade, dried apricots, grapes, honey notes and a hint of alcohol.

M: A medium-sized body, and a somewhat oily liquid, with notable carbonation.

O: The 'Goldeneye' is a balanced, sweet and quite mild pale ale that makes an interesting and rather unusual, sessionable drink. As I'm traditionally not that much into sweetness in beers, I'm surprised by how much I actually enjoy this one. Nice.

Poured from a 33cL bottle into a BrewDog cervoise glass. Lot 038. Best before March 2012.

A: Clear orange/amber-brown with light white head and bubbles within. Scattered lacing.

S: Strongly citrusy hops. Fruity. Malts as a foundation.

T/M: A bit weaker/waterier than the smell. Drying hops and a carbonated tingle set up a very lightly sweet, fruity maintaste before a bitter and incredibly drying aftertaste.

O: An enjoyable beer, if shockingly dry at the end. Not my favourite pale ale, but one I would definitely order in a bar if I saw it.

The colour is copper-amber (20 EBC); the liquid is clear. The two finger head is airy and off-white. It sinks slowly leaving some lacing.

The smell is classic British: Dried fruits (mostly apricots but some pears and pineapples), dried flowers, some hints of diacetyl and delicate malt sweetness. The bitterness is quite mild and includes some wheat sour notes.

The taste is smooth with quite a lot of pear-like fruit esters. Malt sweetness with just little roasted hints, some very mild bitter notes and a touch of fresh rye bread. The light aftertaste got some hints of alcohol, wheat-ey sourness and apricots. The finish is balanced and sweet.

The carbonation is mild; the bubbles are small and fresh. The liquid is semi-smooth.

An interesting take on the English pale ale style with the wheat and the pear/apple-like flavours.

The beer is clear copper chestnut, has an off-white compact and slowly settling head that leaves loads of lacing.

Fresh fruits, lemon, lime, green apples, pears and newly mowed lawn in the smell.

Starting rather sweet, bread and dried apricots, then fresh riper apples, peaches, a modest bitter orange finish with a sharp bitter twist at the end.

Medium low carbonation, soft and slightly sticky feeling, a big body, a coarse dry finish.

Good - I liked the fruitiness and malty body, possibly a bit too sweet and short coarse peak of bitterness.

A: This beer pours deep golden with a medium large white kind of compact head that dissipates into quite nice lacings.

S: The malt is a bit held back. The floral hops dominates, but there is also a healthy dose of bitter hops. Faint strawberries.

T: The malt is a bit more present (compared to the taste), nice caramell. The bitterness is stronger but the floral hops are just as nice as in the smell. Strawberries, again.

M: Body is medium and carbonation mild. Aftertaste stays for a long time and holds a nice dry bitterness.

D: This is a nice beer. It's well-crafted and in great balance.
