This one gave me a big shoulder shrug. Flat and a bit uninspired by my accounting. Boozy. Thin feel. In fairness, this is not my "style," and the ingredients are obviously quality. That said, not my bag.

Poured from can into a tulip glass. Black with minimal head. Decent but thin lacing. Cocoa and mild malt notes cocoa on the tongue. Thin. No body. Too bitter for a trippel.coffee and cocoa notes/taste overpowered any malt. Not a beer I would drink again.

Thoroughly enjoyed from a growler via Jungle Jim's. This unique hybrid pours a oily brownish black with a very thin pooling head that dissipates quickly lacing very light lacing. Nose of black licorice, deeply roasted malts, light coffee, strong alcohol, and sweet brown sugars. Flavors are strong imperial stout flavors of deeply roasted malts, a touch of coffee, raisins, and some licorice smashing into the brown sugar notes and warming alcohol of the tripel style. Slick mouth feel with moderate carbonation lets this one glide on down with a moderate bitterness from the heavy roasted malts. A stout lovers joy. Very nice. They keep making brew this substantial I'll make the trek to Datong. Great job Warped Wing.

Cheers

Pour: black with little or no head, minimal lace

Smell: heavy fig smell with light Belgian yeast undertones

Taste: light sweetness to the front, with heavy fruit fig flavor to the middle, clean finish with belgian tones

Feel: light and dangerously drinkable with the gravity

Overall: fine example of a triple, clean and easy driniking

Served on tap at Milano's

Almost black in color, a medium head leaves splashes of lacing on the glass.

Aromas of coffee, black licorice, and a floral aroma from the yeast. Quite unusual, but actually nice.

Again, there's some coffee, licorice, and yeast flavors. This tastes like they mixed 60% of a stout and a 40% of a tripel.

The beer is quite smooth, and there is sufficient carbonation. Despite the big flavors, it goes down easily, and the alcohol is also concealed well.

Overall, this was very new to me, and while I'm more into IPAs, I found this to be rather enjoyable. It's one worth trying.
