12 oz bottle, poured into a Spiegelau barrel-aged snifter at ~40 degrees F.
L: Pours your typical stout inky black, and forms virtually no head that vanishes nigh instantly.
S: Quite barrelly, with the caramel, oak, and vanilla booze one would expect from a BA stout. Not much underlies the barrel notes, at least while the beer is cold.
T: As per the nose, at least while cold, this is dominated by the barrel notes. It drinks as a decent bourbon with a malt underlay. As it warms, some earthy loam and blackstrap appear beneath the barrel notes.
F: Full bodied and thick, as one wants from a stout.
O: As BA RISes go, fairly pedestrian, but serviceable.

A - Black pour with light, thin caramel colored lacing resting on top. Carbonation is low to none.
S - Light chocolate, chocolate roast, whiskey/Bourbon, some dry oak, toasted cocoa, and light char.
T - Whiskey, oak, and char are up front and foremost in this beer. After the initial palate slam of booziness roasted cocoa starts to settle in on the finish (with some very light cherry buried in there) and leaves a lingering and pleasant chocolate/whiskey finish.
M - Big body that silky soft on the palate, and warming in the back of throat with a dry finish on the back of the tongue while the rest of the mouth is wet.
O - This is a really nice barrel aged Imperial Stout. Recommended.

Poured into a 16 oz Snulip glass vintage 2020. Pours near pitch black with a 2 finger mocha head that leaves thick streaks of lace, with great retention. 4.5
Aroma oaked vanilla, dark chocolate, char, back strap molasses, leather, dark fruit, and whiskey. 4.25
Taste follows woody vanilla, dark chocolate, char, molasses, leather, and the whiskey is rather aggressive but still really nice. 4.25
Mouthfeel above average, maybe a tad dry, gentle carbonation, and at 11% it is a slow sipper and still very approachable. 4.25
Overall this is a really fine Imperial Stout, I am really digging this one. Well made. Thanks jzeilinger for this boozy treat. 4.25

Dark black, no head.
Strong aroma of booze. Oak and vanilla. A little chocolate.
Bourbon, vanilla, chocolate.
A little more alcohol than I wanted, but still an enjoyable beer to drink.

10oz pour on draft at Lucky's Taproom - Dayton, OH. Served in a Madtree snifter glass.
Appearance: Black with a thin dark tan head that died back slowly. Some fine islands of lacing that slowly disappeared over the course of the evening.
Smell: Bourbon with a hint of vanilla. Very little else.
Taste: Bourbon, with quite a bit of malt sweetness to compliment it. Notes of vanilla, caramel, and a tiny bit of sour twang. Bourbon through and through.
Mouthfeel: Very smooth and creamy. Very little carbonation. A little bit of a warming whiskey bite at the finish, but it was muted.
Overall / Drinkability: I've been hearing people rave about this beer in town and I can see why. It really is quite good. The bourbon is the focus of this beer, but it's not overpowering or dominating - it is rich, flavorful, and very tasty. Dangerously smooth as well, with the alcohol well hidden. My only minor issue with the beer is that it's not really a Russian Imperial Stout. That bitterness you find in a RIS is missing. This is a smooth sipping American Imperial Stout. It's dessert in a glass along with a post-dinner snifter of whiskey to boot. Went really well with a burger and ale-soaked chips, and probably would go well with a wide range of foods or just having a snifter all by itself to finish the evening. So high marks for being a well crafted beer, but it's not a RIS.

12.7 ounce bottle, 2017 vintage, label says 11.2% ABV. Served in a Warped Wing snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch tan head that stuck around a while. There's also a good amount of lacing. I like the aroma, the brew smells like bourbon, vanilla, roasted malt, caramel, chocolate, and oak. Taste is similar to the aroma but there's the addition of some molasses, coffee and cream flavors, too. It's a mostly sweet tasting imperial stout, but the roastiness does seem to kick in more as the beer warms. There's also a good amount of barrel in the aroma and taste. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's creamy and smooth with a good amount of carbonation. I think it's a pretty good barrel aged imperial stout, glad I bought this! Definitely recommend it. $9.99 a bottle.

Had on tap. It is like they were attempting to keep the RIS robust nature with shifting the flavors to be brighter and sweeter like an imperial stout. This mostly happened, but with a huge amount of whiskey, wood, and malt up front. Supporting flavors include vanilla, molasses, coffee, though less than expected, more wood and more booze. Interesting take on the style, leaving no holes

Dark but not much head
Strong whiskey barrel up front nose.
Flavor is great. The barrel takes over but in the back it shows some base
Smooth but a tad thin
Overall reminds me of a slightly watered down bcbs. It's a good beer though.

Pours a somewhat matte black color. Thin tan head dissipates leaving a thin ring of foam along the outside of the beer. Beer appears rather thick and viscous.
Smell has notes of chocolate, bourbon, vanilla, oak, and roasted malts. Its like a boozy brownie - really nice.
Taste follows the nose with lots of fudgey chocolate, vanilla, oak, roasted malts, with a bit of heat towards the back. Lovely smooth oaky finish on the back end.
Feel is medium to full bodied, smooth, and velvety. Mild carbonation.
Overall a very well crafted barrel aged RIS from Warped Wing - quite impressively done and well worth seeking out for the BA stout fan.

L - pours black with toasty brown fringes. Tan head forms a handful of large bubbles that mesmerizingly drift to the edges of the glass.
S - immediate bourbon on the nose with a lactosey milkiness. Coffee, dark chocolate, and booze. Getting some musty, aged cheese in there too. Interesting.
T - well now that's a strong whiskey barrel-aged brew. Lots of rye and grain characteristics that leans more heavily toward liquor than stout. Vanilla bean and a dry hoppy crispness. Earthy barrel presence and distinct wood chips. Burnt black coffee on the finish.
F - pointy and sharp. Flavor is laser-focused and the mouthfeel carries that flavor straight to the tastebuds in the most hands-off way possibly. A smooth and sensual delivery system for hot goods.
O - this is an aggressive barrel brew. The bourbon character does not mess around to the point where this feels like a more wholesome, full-bodied whiskey with added coffee and chocolate.
