Poured the can into a glass. Really nice beer with great chocolate flavor and a burst of caramel. As close to candy in a beer as I've found and yet avoids being too sweet. Mouthfeel seemed a bit off and should have been fuller, but overall a unique and worth seeking holiday beer.

16 ounce can, canned on 11/06/15. Served in a nonic pint glass, the beer pours dark brown/black with a half inch tan head. Head retention and lacing are both decent enough. I like the aroma a lot, it smells mostly like milk chocolate, chocolate syrup and caramel, and a bit of roasted malt. I think the taste is just like the aroma, it's all about the milk chocolate and caramel. There's also a bit of dark chocolate bitterness noticeable, but if you like milk chocolate candy (like Esther Price candies), that's what this tastes like. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's slick and smooth with a moderate amount of carbonation. I thought this was a pretty good brew, glad I bought a 4-pack!

All chocolate and caramel malt. Good flavors, but a tad overly sweet and one note for my tastes. Still very enjoyable.

Thoroughly enjoyed from a growler via Jungle Jim's. This very nice brown ale pours a deep murky brown with a moderate light tan head of dissipating foam that subsides to a thick ring, subtle layer, and nice light lacing. Nose of milk chocolate candies, roasted malts, and toffee. Flavors exceed the nose with dark cocoa and milk sugars to the fore and sides mixing nicely with a rich caramel note to the middle and back, and finishing with a lightly bitter dark chocolate and roasted malt note. Slick, smooth, and satisfying with low carbonation makes this one a winner in my book. Glad to have tried it. A great brew from an up and coming brewery.

Cheers

16oz can, canned on 11/05/16. Date stamp 11:14:17 on bottom of can. Served into a tulip stout glass.

Appearance: Dark brown with some light coming through at the edges - a bit translucent where the light comes through. Thin light tan head upon pouring with some small islands and strands of lacing noted.

Smell: Cocoa powder, a hint of caramel, and a smell of milk + chocolate Ovaltine.

Taste: Definite chocolate from start to finish, but more milk chocolate and sweetness up front and in the middle, with more bittersweet dark chocolate with some fruity notes at the finish. Toasted malts and a bit of a metallic twang as well, making me think of an English Brown Ale as the base for this - not an American one. Some leafy hops at the finish mixing in with the bittersweet chocolate as it warms up.

Mouthfeel: Smooth and creamy, but light carbonation - almost but not quite flat. A bit sticky on the teeth.

Overall / Drinkability: It's a very chocolate forward brown ale, which was the point of this beer from the can and the tribute to the local chocolatier. By itself it's a little bit too much - I think it needs to be paired with food as by itself it's quite sweet and potent. However, I do think the brown ale base works well with the chocolate and it's a good beer, but I think I either have to share this with someone or find the right meal to pair it with. I bought a 4 pack of it so I should revisit it maybe with a burger or a steak some night. But I can't have more than one of these an evening, and I think I'd prefer a smaller serving as well. I would have again, but not 16oz in one sitting.

Lots of chocolate in the smell and flavor. Very sweet but quite drinkable. Tasty brown ale.

16oz can Date: 11/10/15

Snack pack, my favorite!!! This stuff is straight fudge brownies and chocolate pudding cups. I almost wanted to eat it with a white plastic spoon. Cloudy brown goodness with all the aesthetics of rusty faucet sludge. Despite the horrid appearance, this is a great brew.
